Default Was there ever a soundtrack CD release of "Tenchu 2" by Noriyuki Asakura?

Heyho.
Since when I first played Tenchu 2 - Birth of the Stealth Assassins(could be 2002), I wanted to buy the soundtrack.
I was searching for years, until I finally got it through iTunes in 2010.
( This one: http://vgmdb.net/album/12126 )

However, I never managed to get rid of the impression that there is also a CD release, though I never really got hard evidence this would be for real.
On Asakura's Homepage there is an "SME" at "2000 - Tenchu 2", which could be "Sony Music Entertainment" or "SME Visual Works", who published also his "Rurouni Kenshin" soundtracks. According to the "Wayback Machine" specified entry was created between 02/02/03 and 04/07/03, at this time SME VW was already in existence.
( SME Visual Works' entry: http://vgmdb.net/org/89
( Asakura's game discography: http://www.n-asakura.com/en/dsco/game.html )
( Wayback Machine links:
Before: http://web.archive.org/web/200302020...dsco/game.html
After: http://web.archive.org/web/200304071...dsco/game.html )

And I know there was a soundtrack to listen to on the internet, though this could have been just a rip of the game.

If anyone is able to provide further information that either neglect or prove a CD's existence, I finally could put an end on this haunting question.

Thanks for your attention,

Midoryu

Edit:
It's also interesting that every other Tenchu game got a CD release.
Tenchu 2's is the only OST that is only available digitally.
Why should there be such exception?
( Overview: http://vgmdb.net/search?q=tenchu )

And yet another note:
I'm searching for this disc for over ten years now, something somewhere had to get me really convinced that there is such a soundtrack available.
And for iTunes that was way too early, as it lists Tenchu 2 for 05/17/06.
( iTunes page: https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/tenchu-2/id154181249 )

The digital iTunes release was Self-Published by the composer himself.
(Mega-Alpha is the name of his personal business).

There was not any physical CD published by any branch of Sony.

I think SME owns the rights of the audio
they probably scheduled to release it but changed their mind (there are some blanks in SPE, SME and aniplex catalogues lists)

Thanks. I thought this would be the case, maybe I've read an announcement for a CD release back in the days that was never going to happen, unfortunately.

Thanks again for your input.
