I'm 100% sure this CD exists although I could not get hold of the back cover yet as I'm after track 06 title which I'm unsure.

Track 06 is called "On Your Feet"...

But.. i got a request now, could we stop posting albums "after" downloading them from torrents & other illegal sources.

I know you got cues, logs & everything.. but it can be a fan made disc.
I suspect the origin of this CD to be Russian.. and god knows how many home-made copies/cds/games they are selling in their country.

We could maybe class it under the bootleg category then.. until someone confirm it was officially commercialized somewhere.

Yeah, it's important to remember that people can burn game rips and put them on CDs, complete with cues and logfiles. Since we don't have any information on this 15 track release, it's definitely suspicious, even more-so since there is 1 extra track beyond the other proven releases.

Any soundtrack that comes from a rip needs to have some kind of official verification such as a site that announced the release.

Thanks if it was not added then I will add it. I'm still hoping the back cover will show up, if there was ever released.

I never said I downloaded from such. You are just supposing things and even If I did as long as the CD was a commercialized pressed CD and is related to VGM and can not be found here then why not add it to VGMdb since this is the Video Game Music Database. I understand your point but you should fear others not me because I'm here to help. I fixed countless issues. I thought you had figured it out by now.

It could be Russian, Palestinian, French or any other nationality. This is a pressed CD, has official ways of detection and as such is in the Accuraterip Database. I'm not here to lecture anybody.

It was commercialized, username Alpha23 has it. He did not find his version so he added the other version to his collection. I did not get this from him but his copy is identical to the one I got which means there are 2 copies floating around.

That is called CDR which the Accuraterip Database does not add to its Database. I thought you knew about it.

We will hardly find this, especially old releases and country to country may have different versions. We can't generalize. They can list one version only but at the same time may have many versions. Japan is better in this sense, usually European releases are messy like this.

My point is simple, people have this Media CD so it should be listed here for all sort of references. and more important for freedb emulator.

If Alpha23 owns a physical copy, then this is fine as an entry, but we really could use a scan, but more importantly some information about where and how this was released. I think that some of these CDs can cause confusion otherwise. I'm mostly trying to stress that this other information -- the where, when, and how of the release -- is just as important as the freedb info.

In the more general case, do you know anything about the procedure that are used to keep questionable albums (i.e., something from a CDR) from being submitted and approved at the Accuraterip database?

As the thread above implies, AccurateRip does not do verification of media "officialness" (practically speaking, they can't anyway). Anyone can submit a self-created CD.

The most they can do is filter out suspicious entries such as submissions from virtual drives or misconfigured offsets.

The album listed here (http://vgmdb.net/album/1754) does actually have 15 tracks. Track 6 is unlisted in the track list. So, I think this entry would be a duplicate.

Best thing is to ask the developer, he knows better than anybody else but there are things he will not share.

I think he meant another thing, self-created CD's will not be listed. I did many tests and it never did. The best thing to do is test it yourself. Pressed CD's are different, companies pay millions for their system.

Ok, seems like i must apologize to Metroid

I asked Rimo about the original 2001 release (he owns that version)..
He answered me that track 06 is unlisted on the back cover.

Seems like it fix everything, this entry is a duplicate, and the original cd have 15 tracks.

Okay, I think I've got everything fixed up.

I'm not so sure we got the right tracklist for the digital release, as it doesn't match the iTunes version. It's hard to tell with digital releases though.

I have one with barcode on the back, and cat code VH4014. As far as I know this particular release was EACD8 as cat code.
