Chances of this being the same person as Hiroaki Nomura, the trombonist who's credited for a few of Sawano's Blue Exorcist albums?

Quite possibly a typo in the booklet, 裕章 can be read as Hiroaki and looks quite similar to 裕幸. I think it's pretty safe to link him since he worked on other Sawano soundtracks.

The two other unlinked artists on the album were also typos. Only on the Blue Exorcist albums. I linked those up too.
By the way, Jimby, we don't remove the typos. We leave them as is and add them as variations on the artist's page. |

If the typo/variation isn't linked on at least one album then it won't be automatically detected.
This means future typo/variation won't be linked up because they'll go undetected. Not good. |

No matter how you look at it, it's inconsistent. For example here, a Japanese booklet has a typo of Masatsugu Shinozaki Group already in alphabet, it was still corrected years ago, complete with the discussion
http://vgmdb.net/db/covers.php?do=view&cover=67270 The real variation as a result of different romanization, artist's own preference and such (Shusei/Syusei, Ohta/Ota...) is perfectly fine but counting a potential, complete misreading as a variation doesn't exactly click knowing another point that variation and alias should be used differently too (variation which is so close to the display name and essentially gives away it's the same person easily and alias which is not that 'same'). For people that prefer to keep those typos as well, at least an alias function should be used and not a variation imho (e.g. recent edit - Yoshiaki Hashimoto -> Sumiaki Hashimoto even if it was intentional and not a typo, that's an alias material and not a variation to me). I think regardless of keeping typos or not, the Notes field on each entry would be good enough to prevent any misunderstanding if staffs and editors properly put notes with rationales.
When I face typos on Variations without notes, I sometimes get slightly confused and worried that many visitors here can misunderstand and circulate wrong info, chances are that finally it could come back here to help lower info quality. Last edited by whatkind; Aug 1, 2016 at 01:37 PM. |
