I've been fixing track times as I rip this baby to my PC (sooo many errors >.<; ). Unfortunately, disc 9 (SaGa Frontier Disc 1) and disc 11 (SaGa Frontier Disc 3) both require the addition of entirely new tracks. Disc 9 is missing the 7 omake tracks and disc 11 can't be fetched through the freedb servers without the hidden track 0.

Perhaps someone a little more ambitious than me can fix the problems eventually? I'll keep fixing track times as I rip. I'm currently ripping disc 12 so I still have a little ways to go.

Thanks for fixing these. If you paste the new disc 9 tracklist into a post, I'll see about inserting it.

I'm not sure what to do about a hidden track 0 for disc 11. Is that accessed by rewinding, or is it technically track 1?

It's in the pregap of track 1. Normally track 1 of a regular audio CD has about 2 seconds of silence as a pregap. A "hidden track" can be inserted by putting it in the pregap portion, which one has to access by rewinding.

Note that pregap "tracks" do not count towards the track total or lengths when using freedb identification. In that sense it's neither track 1 nor track 0.

What Gigablah said. :3
I've got a question though: should the existence of a pre-gap track affect freedb? I wouldn't have though so (as long as all the track times were right), but I couldn't get it to work for me. Whenever I put in disc 11, freedb returns results for disc 3 of SaGa Frontier (all of which list the hidden track as track 1). However, I just couldn't get freedb to find the SaGa Premium Box entry. Thoughts?

Here are the track lists for disc 9. I used the info layzee supplied for the omake tracks. The Japanese track list uses the Japanese titles from the article layzee posted. The English track list uses the translations of those titles. The English (old) uses the in-game jukebox (English) titles.

My bad; the pregap is indeed included in the total length of the disc for freedb queries (track total is unaffected).

I'll definitely have to code a way to include pregap information in the database.

Thanks for the tracklists for Disc 9. I've got them all imported now.

Data tracks as well, which is why the script is only preliminary. Until the track table restructure my hands are tied.

Perhaps Pre-gaps can be stored as a track "0".

Pregaps can be on any track, although I don't think we've seen a release in this database with a hidden pregap track after track 1.

Could it be a special case where the hidden track is noted in the comments, but it's length is taken into account in the total CD length? Or would that cause some back-end trouble? I suggest that because including it in the actual track list might cause problems with the freedb feature (the track names would all be off by one). A special field / flag denoting CDs with hidden tracks could be handy too. Then people can tell at a glance if there's a track 0.

According to my knowledge the only way to rip the hidden track is to attach the gap to the following track (in this case track 1) and then use audio software to split the ripped WAV into two different files. Since it's so much work (and ripping programs can't do it automatically) it might be better to optimize for the general user. In other words, ensure that freedb can detect the CD and send the correct track list. Anyone who wants the bonus track can easily use the info in the comments to find and extract the hidden track.

I just resurrected a discussion over at STC about the HTOA track on Disc 3 of SaGa Frontier OST (Disc 11 in this release) and all signs point to the pregap track being incomplete on the disc. I ripped it with 2 drives (out of 3, one drive doesn't like HTOA tracks) and had the same result on both drives and someone else confirmed it was an issue by converting the disc to .bin/.cue and editing the .cue to make the pregap track it's own track and the results were the same. The first approximately 2.5 seconds of the theme are cut off and it starts halfway through the 4th note of the theme.

I don't own either the original OST or the reprint but I don't have any indication to expect them to be different so I'll likely update the album info section to note this for each of the albums. I didn't specifically ask but the other users who helped confirm the issue probably do not own the box set but rather one of the original prints. If anyone has conclusive evidence to state otherwise, post here and discuss!

I put composer credits on album info for the sake of convenience. According to previous releases.

EDIT: Where's the arrange on track 16 in Disc 1 come from? Or is it a new track?

Do the Omake titles need to be changed? https://vgmdb.net/db/covers.php?do=view&cover=58321

https://www.jp.square-enix.com/music...ntier_revival/ just gives them generic titles (though the punctuation differs):
Quote:
76~82『SQUARE ENIX SaGa Series 20th Anniversary Original Soundtrack -PREMIUM BOX-』収録音源。なお曲名が次の通り変更になっております。
おまけ#1 → 涙あふれて / おまけ#2 → 秘術獲得! / おまけ#3 → Mechanical World / おまけ#4 → Heat Up! / おまけ#5 → More Heat Up!! / おまけ#6 → Go! Go!! Victoria / おまけ#7 → Dream Bubbles
Or should the titles continue to be based on https://vgmdb.net/forums/showpost.ph...9&postcount=59
