it would be epic if Finally Ninja Gaiden 2 and 3 were in this release. :/ Ninja Gaiden 1 already had a released soundtrack, and ninja gaiden 2 only had an arrange album.

This is for Arcade Titles Only, and there was only 1 in the arcade.

You are probably thinking of the Famicom (NES) trilogy 1~3 games, which is why there are not included here.

Excited for this, but it's pretty pricey. Here's hoping for a release sans the DVD's.

And yeah, sadly, no NES Ninja Gaiden II release and even the Ninja Gaiden 1 release sounded...off. I haven't it in eons, but it was something weird with the stereo or something.

HOLY SMOKES SUPERSWEEP IS LEGENDARY

I know you're thorough, but can you verify that it's "海老沢保 (Angirus)" on Ninja Gaiden, but "山岸継司 (Angirus)" on Final Star Force? If so, I have a feeling the latter "Angirus" is a mistake, because the other four people are credited under the same aliases they are in-game but Yamagishi isn't (his is "Yamasan").

I'll take a picture with my phone when I get home for you but I'm fairly certain it is accurate. Their website also said there is a 158 minute DVD that included never before released composer information and interviews with them all.

Added: "※ステージ1~6、1面ボス、エンディング:斎藤幹雄 (メタルユーキ)" to Disc 5, forgot about that part.

Here's the picture: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...eComposers.jpg
Additionally, here is the site I was talking about that talks about the bonus DVD: http://sweeprecord.com/?page_id=7766

I don't know which DVD it is but it sounds like it's a roundtable discussion and there could be some interesting information in there. I can probably send it to someone who can transcribe it if I can find which one it is and rip it. I have no problem doing radical lookup or "machine" type translations but I would not be able to transcribe spoken text. There may be subtitles, though.

Yup, Angirus for both, thanks for that. Not sure what to make of that.

(That ※ belongs to disc 5, by the way; it accurately describes Raiga's breakdown)

I've gone ahead and typed up the Japanese tracklist from the inserts (I couldn't find any sites I could just copy it from). It was mostly easy because of the large amount of katakana but I am sure I messed up some here and there. (ツ、シ, ソ、ン are still hard for me to identify in print). Some more difficult tracklists I was able to copy off of existing albums (http://vgmdb.net/album/3907, http://vgmdb.net/album/3306). I'm going to go ahead and translate it to English but I will absolutely need someone to help me with the Ganbare Ginkun stuff because it is way beyond my very basic understanding of Japanese (It reminds me / is very similar to the difficulties I had with Sasuga no Sarutobi tracklist, http://vgmdb.net/album/24760 and before vgmdb, the Hanjuku Hero ones).

Thanks for the breakdown. Had no idea that Tetsukazu Nakanishi was with Tecmo before Namco.

Tecmo from April 1992 to December 1995 (from Facebook).

Possibly incomplete list of Tecmo works: Eight Forces (arcade), Ganbare Ginkun (arcade), Tecmo Super Bowl (SNES), Tecmo Super Bowl II (Genesis), Tecmo's Deception: Invitation to Darkness (PSX).

Corrections:

BGM2(「 りんごの森の子描たち」)--> BGM2(「 りんごの森の子猫たち」)
エンィング --> エンィング
クレジット --> クレジット
タイトル --> タイトル
ネームエントリー --> ネームエントリー1
ネームエントリー --> ネームエントリー2

Question/Comments about existing tracks:

- Used existing translation for some of the Ninja Gaiden tracks but I am not particularly happy with the translation for "689、皆好きや…き?(ゲームクリア・エンディング)". I feel like there is a play on words we're missing here.

- I translated "第4n+1面/n≧1" as "4th n+1 Stage / n≧1" and as much as I try to keep Unicode out of English tracklists, I don't know that I can on these particular tracks.

- I didn't translate "雷牙", I left it as "Raiga" in the one track it's in.

- ”ゴーディン" is the name of the monster that tries to kill you in Rygar when you run out of time. I couldn't find an English translation of it anywhere. Maybe it's only an Arcade thing? Was it in the NES game? I did find reference to it on a few Japanese sites and the Hardcore Gaming 101 website just notes it as "Unless... time runs out. Then a big red guy. He comes to kill you."

Ganbare Ginkun specific tracks:

Theme of Ganbare Ginkun -- Ginkun is the main players name, I think?
As You Like (Minigame Select) -- http://ejje.weblio.jp/content/%E3%81...81%BE%E3%81%BE
As You Like 2 (Game Decision ~ Instruction)
Selectable Waltz (Course Selection) -- "エラベル" = "selectable" (http://ejje.weblio.jp/content/%E3%82...83%99%E3%83%AB), "ワルツ" = "Waltz". I'm not sure if "Selectable" is correct or not.
Well, Let's Start (Course Map) -- Could be "Come On, Let's Start" or "Hey, Let's Start" or "Begin" instead of "Start" but it's all basically the same.
Beyond the Stratosphere (Getter Gin) -- Explains the minigame here: http://www.geocities.co.jp/Playtown-.../mini/geta.htm So "Beyond the Stratosphere" is correct. Is "Getter" a throwback to "Getter Robo"?
Cattle Flamenco (Cattle and Red Cloak, Flamenco's Not Crying) -- 泣いてないよフラメンコ is the only part that I'm not sure about. It's the name of one of the minigames again, something about a red heel and intercepting missles that get launched up or something. The other minigame is about dodging a cow (read: Bull) as a flamenco with a red cloak or something like that.
King of Curry (King of Curry)
Steady Thrust AFRIKA (Dharma's Loincloth) -- Darumasan is a counting song in Japanese and loincloth is one of the variations of it, I think? http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E3%81%...96.B9.E6.B3.95 I'm not entirely sure what Dontsuku. From googling I get the impression it is the Japanese phonetic for when you beat or hit something rapidly? This link gives a good description of the Dontsuku Festival in Inatori http://ben135.blogspot.com/2005/06/d...-festival.html, which is about some sort of fertility god and he gives a good translation here: "'Don Don Tsuku Tsuku', which means 'steadily/rapidly thrust thrust'!", so perhaps this means "Steady Thrust"? Given that the mini-game appears to have you steadily and rapidly hit the loincloth, I think this makes sense.
Chin Polka (Rapid Cannon, Taste of Teddy Bear Whips) -- I think Don here is used again as "Steady/Rapid", it's a minigame where you have to shoot a cannon by, I think timing up and pressing your button when the word "GO" appears on the screen (not trick words like "COW" or "GOOD"). くまちゃんムチの味 is another minigame about catching Teddy Bears falling down the screen or something weird. I'm not sure what Taste or Whips have to do with it but it wasn't all that difficult of a sentence to figure out, just not sure if the context is correct.
Horse-chestnut Leaves (Unused Music) -- I could add "Tree" To this to further clarify but I guess it's not necessary. I didn't know what a Horse-chestnut was until I looked it up.
Waiha Feeling (Sea Otter's Troops, Yukiyaman, Desperate Fishing Fool) -- I don't know what "waiha" but it is does use the same katakana as Hawaii and there are a lot of co-linked searches with it. Could be nothing. This site indicates that it's slang for Hawaii, http://sakurahouse-blog.com/blog/201...ut-be-careful/, but I don't know how accurate that is. Sea Otter's Troops is a minigame where you try to send baby otters over to their mother by pressing the button when your power bar reaches MAX or close to it or something like that. Yukiyaman, I don't know if it has a direct translation but you have to ski down a slalom and avoid bears. Yuki is "Snow" but I can't find anything to indicate that "yaman" means anything.
Rapid Boogaloo (Belgium Fire Brigade) -- Belgium Fire Brigade is a minigame where you try to piss on a bomb fuse to put it out (video linked below). Don Bugaru might be intended to be a name but also given some of the other names above (Waltz, Polka, Flamenco), this might be "Don Boogaloo", or if we use the definition for "Don" above, it could be "Rapid Boogaloo"
Welcome to the Chatan Store (Close Call Baby, I Jump Over Methane Gas) -- Close Call Baby is one of the minigames linked below, you have to pull babies back from getting to some creepy looking dude. I am unsure how to translate オレとジャンプとメタンガス. I Jump Over Methane Gas? Methane Gas and Jump and I? The objective of the game as far as I can tell is to jump over a pool of methane gas.
GIN'S BAR (Scold Corpses) -- Minigame where I think the objective is to hit a corpse (zombie) that's dancing differently than the other 11 zombies (i.e., scolding them).
Ganbare White Team (Rocket Sushi)
FSF?! (Sudden Struggle to the Death) -- This minigame you press the button to hit the brakes when you enter a predetermined "brake" zone, so I think that ふとうでしとう is ふとうで + しとう (死闘). Google translate gives me "Sudden" as an option here but I think it's wrong because it's not able to parse the words properly and is probably just guessing.
I Did It! (Game Success)
It Was Good~ (Game Success)
Ohh Cruel (Game Failure) -- I added an extra 'h' to add textual emphasis like the double 'a'.
I'm Dead (Game Failure)
Rocky Balboa Figure (Chance Game) -- lol
Also Next Week (Round Clear)
Two Easygoing People (Scenario Part)
Game Over
Ganbare Ginkun's Theme of Love (Ending)
Special Sound Effects and Voice!
"Ganbare Ginkun RADIO-SHOW Returns! Scitron Distant Water!" -- サイトロン水遠に has me stumped, サイトロン can be Sightron (a company that makes scopes) or Scitron, the record label, but why either of those would be in the track title is beyond me. Scitron makes more sense of the two, though. And 水遠に, I have no idea.

Well, to start the only English information I could find was three insane YouTube videos of the game and how bizarre it is:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vTGhVNANjLY
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z6fvt4uPFDw
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KFr3fGphAyU

Here's an explanation of each of the minigames with pictures that help with the translations:

http://www.geocities.co.jp/Playtown-...mini/index.htm
http://www7.ocn.ne.jp/~bacube/oldgam...re_ginkun.html

Scitron published the original Ganbare Ginkun OST and maybe produced the original radio show on that disc, so I guess that's what that's about.

Also I think that's probably 永遠, not 水遠.

Interesting note: The Ganbare Ginkun soundtrack credits はりもと やえみ (Yaemi Harimoto, I think the artist credit/link is wrong on the original album, Harimoto, not Horimoto), but this credits 宮崎やえみ. I wonder if Harimoto was a maiden name and Miyazaki is a married name? They are not interchangable as far as readings go.

Someone should call up Japan and tell them to make は & ほ more distinct for ignorant westerners like me. I'm sure they'll get right on it!

Published an unboxing video of the collection this morning:

http://www.scarletmoonproductions.co...ame-chronicle/

The disc box itself isn't as plain as the flyer would have you believe, but the highlight is really the booklet. I thought the Toaplan set was a little more creative (loved the sequential flaps), but this is nice too.

Maybe just a quick editorial note for the YouTube comments or something but the 11th bonus disc from Super Sweep is an Extreme Game Play of Bomb Jack, not Mighty Bomb Jack. They're two different games, the latter came out in 1986, the former in 84.

Regarding the two names that don't have a romaji spelling, I talked with Shinji Hosoe and he gave me the last names of the composers. I've asked if he could give the full name, but here they are:

Ebisawa
Yoshinaka (he mentioned pachinko here too, but I highly doubt that helps)

EDIT:

Heard back from Takahiro Yagi, the producer for the album:

海老沢保:Tamotsu Ebisawa
吉中知恵:Chie Yoshinaka

Scans are done. Well, as done as my crappy scanner will allow.
Front and back of the case and the back of the slipcase are for some reason impossible to scan like the other pictures. My scanner somehow increases the brightness and contrast when I try to scan those specific items, and no matter how much I move the case around on the scanner, put black or white paper next to it, or have the cover open, the problem persists. Reducing the contrast and brightness in the scanner settings does not make it look better either. And this only happens sometimes, so I can't deliberately scan the other parts in the same manner either. I did manage to reduce the brightness and contrast somewhat in Photoshop, but it's just not possible to make it look like the other scans.

I'm not sure what to call the package that houses the discs. You can see for yourself how the discs are placed in the picture. Please change it from "case" to something more appropriate if you can think of anything.

One note about the discs. Disc 10 is not a DVD at all, but a regular CD (647 MB), so the info should probably be changed to 8 CD + 2 DVD, or however you want to write it.

Does anyone know who does the vocals on "Even Though I Like You" on disc 7? I only find composer and lyricist in the booklet.

Am I correct in assuming that Mitsuhito Tanaka (JOHN PEE) alone did the remaining music on Raiga: Strata Fighter? Which would be track 18-20, 22, 24, 26, 27, 29-30, 32-33, 35-36, 38-39, 41-44.

In the credits for Final Star Force it says "Rikarin (Rika Shigeno), BZ (Afforementioned Shigeno)". Does this mean that Rika Shigeno is credited twice for the same game? What's up with that?

Second version of a previously dumb post because BoneSatyr said there's an unboxing video which I just had the sense to watch. The black one is the slipcase and the white one isn't. How seriously confusing. And yeah, case is the best word to describe the white one.
