Is it true that the 1st print (the one with the slipcase) comes with a second remix-track?

You mean one extra track over the 21 listed here? What makes you think that it does?

That 20 track album is a European release. I'm not sure in which countries it was released, but I owned it at one point. KICA-7895 will always have 21 tracks, regardless of whether your copy came with the slipcase or not.

I see, maybe we should add the european release to vgmDB?

We should, but we need some more info on it. Particularly a release date...

There is also this album:

Which is the retail version, not the one included in the limited edition of the game.

Actually, European release does have the same catalog number. Too bad that the release date is unknown still, maybe someone should mail Konami of Europe and ask about it (And sametime ask where in the hell is Suikoden III).

I asked my brother. He means that the OST came with the european Limited PSX Game-Edition and should have the same release date as the original game, which is according gamefaqs 02/26/99

Some Pics from the European Edition:

The tracklist is different, so they have to be unlinked independent entries.

A possible reprint dated 12/5/2006? Or maybe they have it wrong.

No, I don't think that these are reprints. I rather think they have purchased the CDs from the Konami Store to sell them higher. The description on the Konami Store Page doesn't say anything about a reprint.

Good detective work, Lucy! That limited edition box seems like the likely origin then.

Due to their similarities to REX's Lair and Encounter, I'd have to say that Cavern and Duel were also done by Kazuki Muraoka, respectively. Especially the latter one. Kazuki Muraoka is the Sound Director BTW.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qcKsx8ZeL0k - Cavern

EDIT (07/17) This flash credits Takanari Ishiyama for Cavern. Since it's not just the first name on the list, I think this holds some merit.

Takanari Ishiyama was definitely the Sound Engineer. (http://squarehaven.com/people/Takanari-Ishiyama/)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vnQRWJ7bIhs - Encounter
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SJqLQkODKnk - Duel

Hind D is also not too far off from Encounter, but it's not nearly as close as Duel.

Lastly, Escape sounds like REX's Lair and Encounter combined together.

I feel that it's worth mentioning that Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Partiots' credits lists several tracks from MGS1 and provides composer information.
What's interesting is that this suggests that Kazuki Muraoka did not compose "Matis' Hymn", as it lists only the KCE Japan Sound Team.
It also directly identifies the composer of five tracks.

Quote:
SONGS

FROM "METAL GEAR SOLID"

"THE BEST IS YET TO COME"
Performed by Aoife Ni Fhearraigh
Written and Produced by Rika Muranaka
Additional Choral Arrangment by David Downes
Words Translated by Blathnaid Ni Chufaigh
Recorded at Beach Park Studio (Ireland)

"INTRUDER 2"
"REX'S LAIR"
"BLAST FURNACE"
"ENCOUNTER"
Written by Kazuki Muraoka

"ENCLOSURE"
Written by Maki Kirioka

"MANTIS' HYMN"
Written by KCE Japan Sound Team
