Strange how they haven't done a limited edition package for this one.

After listening to the pre soundtrack, I'm not longer sure if I really want this. In that regard it's kinda good that there isn't a limited edition that might go quickly out of print.

The pre soundtrack only has 6 samples from a 4-disc soundtrack.

You're right of course, but the thing is that the pre soundtrack is a least partially representative for the content of the full soundtrack. So, when I hear this and I'm like "duh, nothing here that really gets me going" then I won't feel very inclined to preorder the full thing.

can't wait for this, more excited for the ost, probably won't even be getting the game. 13 and 13-2's ost's were really good.

Hmm just a quick question but does anyone know when the official english tracklist will come in? I appear to be getting my copy tomorrow but i'd assume the tracklist will turn up on the release date? Not sure how it usually works for this series.

Wait there some soundtracks that come with japanese and english tracklists? o_O
That sure would be convenient if they always did it like that.

In any case I'll upload scans and whatever tracklists come with it tomorrow and hopefully someone here can do a quick translation if possible .

Most CDs out from SQEX over the last year have offered official English track lists in an effort to more easily sell their products globally. So it doesn't really make sense to put you down for asking.

Strangely, however, this album does not have an English track list, at all.

In terms of the limited edition, I think it's this textured cardboard box that the 4-disc jewel case fits into.

The music: I'm through the first disc, and it's mainly dark ambient. Really moody stuff. Some jazz influences. No pop whatsoever... yet.

I think the first ff english tracklist is from ff iii osv (1991?)
too bad they didn't make a habit for other albums (seiken, saga, etc.)

For Lightning Returns it seems their localization process is a bit different due to the development cycle for getting this out the door - They also shucked tradition in that the Asian release only includes Chinese/Korean subs without English (no idea if that'll change via a patch or something when the NA/EU version goes out or they'll just sell the NA/EU version in English-speaking Asian countries)

I mixed a good amount of Hamauzu-san's music on this OST so I can't wait to get my hands on my copy!

Uploaded scans.

Yep there is no english tracklist included sadly. But oddly enough for some reason the credits section is all in english while everything else is in japanese.

I never understood why that sort of thing happens.

Welp, my copy is in shipping limbo.

Could you scan the credits page? I'm curious as to how it turned out.

edit: I'm blind and didn't refresh, ignore me.

Thanks for the scans!

The note on the obi confirms that the outer box is indeed a first print bonus. Strange that this wasn't announced, only the in-game bonus, but it's getting more common (the special packaging for the Myth Xenogears album or the Distant Worlds Celebration blu-ray, for example, were never advertised either).

Listened to nearly the first 3 discs, not impressed at all so far. I said the same thing initially about 13-2 but I came to love that OST. I dont think I'll be saying that about this one.

Not a fan at all of the male vocal songs, and a few tracks that seem like normal ones are a bit too long. (ex: 1-9, 1-10)

The style is definitely different from that of 13 and 13-2. Right now first review of this is a 3/5, and I'll post again once I've listened to the whole thing a few times.

I don't know any other musicians named "Gabe McNair" -- can anyone confirm, does anyone know, is that the same dude that records with No Doubt? (disc 2 track 3)

The web page for the soundtrack says the box is the limited ed. Once it runs out it'll just be the regular case.
