Both previews on the site are of previously released tracks, one being an instrumental version of Desert Lullaby and the other of Dead Dunes with a soft drum loop.

I know not everybody's fond of the vocals on Desert Lullaby but if this indicates that they're taking them out for the international version (like Unseen Intruder) I'll be pretty disappointed. Unseen Intruder didn't have a terrible vocal but the lyrics were intrusive and didn't fit in-game for me.

Hoping though that OST+ means we're getting the cutscene tracks omitted, as well as a Japanese version of The Savior's Words and the other street musician performances. There were also a couple of extended tracks with some intros and codas that would be cool (like Sazh & Dajh) but they're not really that interesting so I'm not anticipating them appearing.

Things I can remember off the top of my head:

Spoiler:

-New theme at the end of the Snow chapter
-New arrangement of Vanille's theme
-Really dark, subtle orchestral track that plays shortly after Vanille's theme
-New arrangement of Caius's theme
-Dark, interlude-y piece in Noel's chapter - not horribly interesting
-Extended version of "Sazh & Dajh" - also not horribly interesting but still nice

And then of course there are some minstrel & street band songs that would be great as a medley or something:
-Japanese version of "The Savior's Words"
-Acoustic vocal/guitar version of "Eternal Wind" from FFIII - remix confirmed for OST+ by Mizuta
-Acoustic vocal/guitar version of "New Bodhum"
-Acoustic strumming I can't figure out the identity of, if there is any
-Street band version of "FINAL FANTASY" (aka "Prologue," "Opening Theme," "Credits," what have you)
-Street band version of "Terra's Theme" (FFVI)
-Street band version of "Battle at the Big Bridge" (FFV)
-Piano bar version of "Serah's Theme ~ Memories" (FFXIII-2)
-Trumpet version of "FINAL FANTASY XIII - The Promise"

And these are totally pushing it, but they're in game anyways:
-Acapella "Victory Fanfare" chant
-'Aggressive' Mixes that play before some enemy encounters
-Drum/percussion bare-bones version of "Chocobo Carnivale"

That seems like substantially more than in previous games, but maybe I just wasn't paying as much attention. I'd be happy with just the three main cutscene omissions if that's all we'd be getting.

Official website states the soundtrack will include 25 tracks, so that's quite a lot (especially compared to previous "Plus" albums). Mizuta himself wrote that the new album will make the whole collection "complete".

He posted a new track to his blog (Eternal Wind midnight mix) but states that it will not be included in the album: http://blog.jp.square-enix.com/music...1/_ffxiii.html

Wow, that's reassuring. And I didn't realize the new mix wasn't going to be on the record. I'm way more excited for this release now.

Well it's an official iTunes release by Square Enix, so this is the official English tracklist.

I'm pretty happy with this release. The only five things I can think of that aren't on here are the trumpet version of The Promise, the aggressive mix/track that plays in the Warren and Yusnaan low town when an enemy appears, the drum mix of Chocobo Carnivale, and I *guess* the acapella victory fanfare for the Japanese and English versions respectively. Would love to have those first two, but the disc is pretty jam packed. No complaints.

first i have to say i,m realy happy with this cd. all the great cut Scene Music are on the disc. but still sad that they didnt include the trumpet version of The Promise and the two aggressive mix/tracks. i dont get why they release Snow's Theme - Final Words - again with the previously released Portion from the ost ... it would be enough just release only the missing Portion of the song and save the rest for the missing three songs....
and then i have a question. does anyone know what yuza_050 (from FF 13-2 ost plus)mean?

isn't that how they name WIP tracks? Persona 3's soundtrack had something similar.

You wouldn't happen to have a video link handy, would you?

edit: if it's ->this<-, that's actually a 4 bar loop of the percussion from the orchestral part of the intro cutscene. Specifically ->here<-

I'm not 100% sure if Warren also uses that as an Aggressive Mix. It's more likely to be the other standalone Aggressive Mix loop.

Nope, the Warren/Low Town use a different one. Though good on spotting that one–yeah, that's from intro.

Are these tracks in the game or are they soundtrack exclusive?

Both.

I don't have a track-for-track breakdown, but when you see a track name and then (Game Ver.) in parentheses, you can safely bet it's the version they used in the game.

Also, the English and Japanese vocal versions of certain songs, I *believe* they appear in their respective territories but for whatever reason didn't make it on the 4disc OST.

And from there, yes, there are some outtakes and alternate arrangements of songs.
