So I get an impression "movie/series/ova" for platform selection is used only for animation movies, series and OVAs (complete CGI movies also count here, like FF7 Advent Children), not for live action movies, where simply (Movie) is added to product aka movie title without selecting any platform.

However here the platform 'movie' is selected even though it's not an animated movie.

For the sake of standardization & stuff , does this mean the 'movie' platform can be selected for live action movies too?

Along the same lines as what was asked previously, is this site supporting a database for movies as well? If so, then it should NOT be just Japanese movies. Which means people can put in American movies as well, which in my opinion opens up a can of worms. So basically I'm begging the question: why are Japanese movies even listed on here as at all? I thought this place was called "video game music database" and was basically listing only video game and video game related music?

From what I understand and was told to me in another thread, soundtracks for movies and other media based on games are allowed, as well as other projects created by VGM composers or arrangers.

I mean, we have the freakin' DOOM movie soundtrack! I never expected to see this here. And then we have stuff by groups like Imeruat which is a non-VGM project by Masashi Hamauzu.

It's not just for live action movies based on a game, it's good if it's based on anime too, like you can see by this very album (Space Brothers). Another example is this - Great Teacher Onizuka TV drama.

Not just limited to movies based on anime/games. As long as the artist is a well known anime/game composer then these types of albums are allowed. That's why all of Joe Hisaishi's drama/movie soundtracks, for example, are in the db.
