4 CDs for a Western Game of original music (i.e. not something like GTA)? Is this a record?
Has there even been any with a 3CD release? |

For a single game, that might be the record. (or at least nothing comes to my mind right now).
Most recent releases get to 2cds (Halo series, Uncharted 3...) I could name Medal of Honor Soundtrack Collection but that's a compilation. Also, note that it's the first time DirectSong is selling physical CDs. That's right, for that price you get 4 CDs, not anything digital. |

4 CDS has me pumped because that may mean they actually have enough music for an Elder Scrolls game for once. Prior games had enough music for like a 20 hour game and not a 200 plus game.
I hope I am right. |

Morrowind had like one single track (the main theme) >_>

Yeah pretty much. However, maybe like 10 off the top of my head. =D
Thank god the theme was brilliant though. If you preorder, apparently, you will have it personally signed by Soule. Last edited by BahamutZ; Nov 4, 2011 at 08:11 PM. |

So no tracklist for this one? It was supposed to be out last week. Anyone actually buy it?
Odd that there's none on Directsong's site either... |

Yeah anyone know what's up with the delay of the OST?

Where does it say it was delayed??
From day one, it's said it wouldn't ship 'til the week after the 11-11 game release date. So in theory, it would've started shipping on 11-18 at the earliest. Did I miss something? |

I just checked their official Facebook page for Skyrim and they said that order is being shipped to Jeremy Soule so he can sign each copy, and then it'll be mailed out in the order the orders came in. Like 3-4 weeks to get the soundtrack once you order it.

They've also been having issues with gmail not allowing emails to be received. Hopefully that'll get fixed soon, as well.

Who dumped the pristine digital version of the cover in favor of the banged-up scan?

I agree that the uploaded scan looks a bit haggard. Higher resolution perhaps, but at what cost?
Does anyone know if Julian Soule contributed to this album?

Julian did contribute and was a major force behind the technology that went into creating such a realistic sound. This really is a great soundtrack, not sure why users are rating it so low. Unboxing video going up tomorrow and review on Friday!

Yeah, it was somewhat banged up, but that was more due to poor packaging rather than anything due to my part. But it's not really that bad - not like there's tears across the cover or anything like that. |

Maybe they don't like the concept of disc 4?

There's been a huge stink about the way these had been shipped out. People complaining about issues with damaged packaging and cases. Luckily I don't think any of the CDs had been scratched. I'm still waiting on mine to arrive, hopefully any day now.

"Skyrim Atmospheres" is actually pretty nice as simply a background ambient track to listen to while studying or something. I enjoy the melodic/instrumental interludes sprinkled in here too, such as at 6:57, 14:18, and 21:12.

Can someone source the Mark Lampert credit? Because the soundtrack says all music comopsed and produced by Jeremy Soule, so not sure where this guys name came from.

Dancey... We meet again for the first time for the last time... Yeah. :P
Anyway We talked with Mark Lampert, audio director and sound designer at Bethesda Game Studios Quoted from this article here: http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/a...of-skyrim.aspx Mark is the soundscape architect for Skyrim. Soule composed the music, Lampert designed the atmospheric soundscapes like birds, rivers, & misc. background sounds. |

I don't think creating a sound effect really makes you a composer or arranger. If he had say in the placement of the sound effects in the track, then maybe it's a stretch, but yes. Let me confirm to see if he actually had any hand in the track.

Well, I'm sure he "arranged" the sound effects in some fashion, does that count? And I just noticed my awesome html fail up there. :P

Hey Argentis, did you ever get yours? It does mention on the Direct Song page that they take about 4 weeks to ship... I also am still waiting.
