Apologies if this has already been reported...

Artists with multiple roles on multiple soundtracks (composer, arranger, performer, etc.) can have their discography filtered based on those roles.

Recently this stopped working for me. By default, composer/arranger/performer/etc. are all checked. Now, unchecking any box delists all albums, not just the ones linked to the artist's role.

So, if there's an artist who is a composer on one album, and an arranger on a different album, and I ask the filter to delist all albums where the artist is an arranger... all albums are delisted.

It looks like the filter is pretty much completely broken. I don't know what might have caused this, unless it's the recent change for unit linking.

An related issue is the arranger credits of the albums where the composer doesn't arrange other's compositions. I'm lately leaning toward to thinking that it's just redundant and not informative (about the only merit is to show Nobuo Uematsu is basically assisted by others for games with streamed audio). Without them, the discographies will become much simple and it helps users to look for the actual arrangement works, but I know it's a bit too late to works on all the albums added.

The Filter for Discography pages http://vgmdb.net/artist/82 either works REALLY weird, or it's broken. I think broken. I wanted to only show anything with Composer, but it doesn't do it unless all are checked.

When going to a new tab under Updates, then click "Next page", and go back to the first page, it'll make the "Previous page" link available on the first page of a tab. Clicking it returns a database error (links to recent.php?do=view_scans&skip=-1):

I can confirm what Nisto said and did. It is reproducible.

Also, dates still don't show up on unit profiles.

Doesn't the kana (reading) part also need the space?

It looks like spaces were added to the readings too. Nice.

They should probably be omitted when the artist only has one name, like Faylan: http://vgmdb.net/artist/575. Her Japanese name shows up as "飛蘭 ( ふぇいらん)" with an extra space at the beginning of the reading.

It seems like transferring new titles that starts with numbers are read as track numbers (I used the "Transfer title only" option).

Forgot about that. The spacing should look a little better now.

Everytime I assign an artist manually through the 'Link a new artist' field I get this message: "Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in /home/vgmdb/public_html/db/artists-assign.php on line 859"
Works propely if I only use the database number, tho.

Found a pretty bad bug, squashed it. Manually linking without an artist ID should work fine now, thanks AcidBeast.

If you start editting an album, a new thread is created meanwhile, then submit the edit, the thread ID gets erased (staff only).

I guess this happens since the review ID field has a 0 by default. Maybe this could be avoided if it was empty instead.

Ugh, for some reason the twitter auto-publish got deactivated on twitterfeed. Switched it to feedburner.

Both albums seem to share the same text, yet are not related each other.

I'm not sure what you mean. They look completely different to me.

You might try holding down shift and refreshing your browser cache. I had a weird issue the other day, where I lost the title coloring for all albums, but it fixed itself when I refreshed the cache.

I think he's talking about the fact both albums are not visible on the "Related Albums", while they are representing the same product.

Maybe due to quotation marks ?

Oh, it's because of the quotation marks. It's something I never figured out how to fix.

Getting a lot of "Upload Error: 500" when uploading covers since this morning.
Is anything going on with the server ?

Yeah, we've upgraded to a 64-bit server, so there may be a few issues. You can report any unexpected behavior here:

It seems like the "filters" (Catalog Number/Album Title/Release Date) on the Just added page are broken and leads to a 404 error.

Fixed the 404, but for now the sorting doesn't do anything on that page.

Any chance to get this old feature working again?
Quote:
Don't know if is a bug or a removed feature, but I will try to make me understand:
from a parent album entry, an user can click on the cat.number and the database opens the little window with child albums related.
This window shows now only the cat.number and the date release, but some months ago it shows also the type media. Is it a bug or simple has this feature been removed?
I hope it's not the second case cause it was a great shortcut to find the specific media type without "open" all the child entries.

It's possible to do, but it's going to take more queries because we now store the media in a separate table (which also means it's many->one instead of one->one). I'll look into it later this month, after we move the code to a new version-control system.

Does the filtering of the artist discographies work as it's supposed to be? Whatever role I uncheck, it just hides anything that doesn't feature composer, which is to say it just shows Doujin and suchlike.

Oh yeah, I need to tell Blah about that. I don't have the Javascript skillz to fix that one.

As repeatedly reported, here's a display bug in the "edit album" page.
I do have this bug too, and i am using Firefox 4.0
