I'm kinda tempted to make a literal translation of the tracklist for the OST (maybe a romaji list while I'm at it). I still find it very Nintendo-like to localise a track called "Hometown" as "Gramps", so I figured it might be worth making a literal translation for the tracklist at some stage.

No idea when I'll do it but I figured I'd put the idea out there. Does anyone think it'd be useful to have?

Has there even been a tracklist released for this OST yet? I don't see one on this album's page...

No, but all the tracks were on JASRAC. They had both Japanese and English (localised) titles. These were also found in the datamine of the game that happened a little while after I found the tracks on JASRAC.

A few friends and I compiled the list of tracks here:

http://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/...ZpLHRKtpk13eM/

We don't know anything about the 5 new piano arrangements though. Also the order of the tracks on the official OST release, etc.

Damn...there's really not a single USB edition available ? What a shame...I should have pre-order this edition early but again pre-order items on a store in japanese won't really do well for me. If anyone do have a link or proposition, i'm interesting for it .

Also do we have any news for the tracklist so far ?

The USB sold out in about 1 hour, since there were only 2000 copies available. It was tempting to get but the limited edition CDs provided virtually the same content, minus the audio quality.

No official news. The names of the tracks in back English and Japanese have been found on JASRAC and ripped from the game (look at the post I made above), but no tracklist for the OST release itself, so the tracks could show up in an entirely different order. There will also be 5 new tracks not included on the list I posted above - the Ivan Linn piano arrangements.

Interview with Mariam Abounnasr. Very interesting interview overall, but also says a few things about the Xenoblade 2 OST. Could maybe get a few individual arranger credits here. Seems like she arranged the night versions for both ANÚNA pieces.

http://www.vgmonline.net/mariamabounnasrinterview/

Quote:
Don: Another game with which you were responsible for some orchestration is the recent Xenoblade Chronicles 2. Generally speaking, what types of tunes were you responsible for orchestrating? Could you highlight some of your favorite pieces you worked on, and what challenges did you face given the multitude of composers featured on the soundtrack?

Mariam Abounnasr: I orchestrated and arranged Mitsuda san’s music only. As Mitsuda san acted not only as a composer but also as a sound producer, so I stepped in to help. As the soundtrack isn’t out yet, I am not sure how much I can say, but I worked mainly on the cutscenes and a few field and battle music. Aside from meeting wonderful composers like ACE, Hiramatsu san and Kiyota san, my personal highlight was working with ANÚNA for the first time. I worked on the night version of Tehosoir and Indoline Praetorium, trying to create some contrast to the day versions of the pieces. The sound that ANÚNA creates is very distinctive, very transparent and mystic, yet different from an ordinary choir you hear at church. My challenge was to capture ANÚNA’s distinct sounds and bring that into my arrangement. It gave me the opportunity to explore musical textures and colours that I wouldn’t normally write for a choir.
EDIT: Considering what we know, this could also imply that Mitsuda arranged all of the orchestral ACE/Hiramatsu/Kiyota tracks, since I recall seeing Mitsuda mention that they weren't experienced with working with an orchestra, so he had to help out a bit. I think he mentioned arranging their pieces, but don't quote me on that.

YES! The track count was off by 1 track and this is obviously why. Glad they're releasing it. I wonder if the rendition of the main theme for Ursula's quest will be released. I don't see it being released but it'd be cool to see.

This tracklist is obviously not 100% accurate since there are 5 discs on the regular edition, but it does give us an order for the tracks. I assume this would be accurate for the digital release of this soundtrack though.

I am only hoping that they'll make it clear which discs will have which tracks.

Unlike the original Xenoblade, it looks like they're going with game order this time around.

Might be worth putting in the album info section(s) but there's a unique postcard depending on where you reserved your copy: https://twitter.com/PROCYONSTUDIO/st...92005716197376

For the regular editions only, I think. The deluxe editions (both USB and CD) get a bookmark instead. I might be wrong though, the deluxe editions may get both.

Apparently the OST (regular edition) will be available digitally worldwide, it seems. I assume the digital releases in English regions would use the localised tracklist.

Preview for the OST has been released.

https://youtu.be/zjMArkh7Xwk

I've added the Japanese and English tracklists to the Type C edition, since we have that now.

Thanks for link.

So far Kenji Hiramatsu´s tracks from preview are most interesting.
I think it is because they are mostly action themes
Also orchestration in those tracks is quite good.

Limited edition stuff revealed.

EDIT: If anyone EVER decides to scan the entire 120 page booklet, props to you. I'm certainly not doing it.

EDIT 2: 124 pages*

I don't care if they did limited edition types comprising the entire alphabet, but omitting 21(?) songs unless you get the limited USB or 6CD editions doesn't sit well with me. OCD is one thing, but if I really happen to enjoy those tracks one basically needs to pay a reseller exorbitant amounts, yeah noty. I don't care so much for the eyecatches but am definitely a sucker for the piano arrangements...

Of course if all 126 tracks in their entirety are available in places like mora or ototoy with the exact same audio specifications I'll take back everything I just said

I'm aware that this practice isn't new but when actual tracks are affected I get extra sad zz

Released on iTunes. Changes to English tracklist based on the Australian iTunes page.

https://itunes.apple.com/au/album/xe...ack/1383212072

It'll be on iTunes internationally, once it hits midnight on the 23rd of May for each timezone.

If someone could add the timestamps, that'd be great. It's kinda late for me.

The artists displayed on iTunes are the same that were listed for the composer breakdown from JASRAC. But it is a little bit different from the list of artists that is on the Proycon website.

I have found 3 tracks where it differs :
- 2-06 KH+YM --> KH
- 5-03 ACE+YM --> ACE
- 5-07 YM --> MK
(some other differences may have escaped to my eyes)

So I guess the list displayed on the Proycon website is kind of an "arranged by" list (even if it doesn't credit Mariam Abounnasr or Takayuki Yoshimura).

Also, I noticed some mistakes in the "Music by" section that is featured in the Type B and C notes. Not sure to have found them all but the ones I saw were concerning ACE.

That's AUD. Everything's more expensive down in Australia - it'll probably be $50 or $60 USD when it comes up on the US iTunes store. I think it's 4500 yen on the Japanese store.

Decided to change the page title from "Xenoblade 2" to "Xenoblade2" based on this image of the 124 page booklet. This is consistent with the iTunes and Amazon.com digital releases too.

Can anyone confirm if there are differences between the Australian, European, or American tracklists? (I can't access iTunes from this computer.)

There aren't any.

There is one typo I noticed though, the track "Loneliness" is spelt as "Lonliness" on iTunes and Amazon, however JASRAC lists it with the correct spelling. As such I think this track's title shouldn't be changed to match iTunes, Amazon, etc.

Spoiler:

EDIT: I can't read. The JASRAC page actually lists it as "Lonliness". Not sure what to do in this scenario. Should we change the tracklist to match this? Or just keep the correct spelling? I'm curious if the booklet includes an English tracklist or not - that way we'd be able to check for sure.

"Lonliness" is either a typo or some kind of Engrish. I vote we use the correct spelling of "Loneliness".

Usually our policy is to keep typos unless there's an official correction somewhere.

EDIT: I'm assuming the track is misspelled everywhere, if some places have the correct spelling (like in game or in the booklet), it's fine to use that.
