Default Hiroki Kikuta - Indivisible (PC, PS4, Xbone) Indiegogo campaign

Trailer
Prototype for Windows download

Thought this is worth mentioning: Lab Zero, the indies behind the fighter Skullgirls, are working on a Valkyrie Profile style platforming RPG hybrid with Metroid style exploration. Hiroki Kikuta is already doing music for the game (play the prototype or listen to the samples below). They are asking for $1,500,000 fixed funding (i.e. money is returned if goal isn't reached).

https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/i...nd-505-games#/

Kikuta's music from the above prototype:
Exploration track "Lost Genesis"
Exploration track "Girl of Destiny"
Boss battle track "Crucial Fixture"

Message from Hiroki Kikuta

With Skullgirls Lab Zero had a history of over-delivering on their promises. They expect at least 60 min of music, and want to add more when the budget allows. The prototype was apparently done within 4 months, with the full game planned for early 2018 if funded.

$15 tier gets digital OST, 30$ tier adds the game itself, $100 tier makes the OST physical.

I like what I'm hearing and playing so far so I hope this makes it through.

Want, but $100 is a tad high for the physical.

First time in awhile I've seen a compelling case for one of these crowdfunding deals.

I'm liking this. I'll put in for the digital OST only.

I put in at the $30 digital soundtrack level.

A lot of other KS's have Kikuta doing a handful of tracks. This will be a "full/starring Kikuta" OST, much like Skullgirls was "full/starring Yamane"

I had the chance to play the prototype (and you can too! it's linked near the top of the campaign info) and it's immediately satisfying. I have high hopes and I trust the content devs behind it.

Since the last post there have been plenty incarnations revealed:

They also revealed a lot of indie crossover cameos:

Funded now. Ravi (the CEO) said he wants Kikuta to make remixes for each of the cameos.

Edit: It will be possible to back after the campaign through InDemand. The first stretch goal is for Kikuta:

$1,650,000 - More Music by Hiroki Kikuta
Indivisible is currently budgeted to have between 60 and 90 minutes of music from Kikuta-san, and we’d like to expand that by at least another hour!

Makes me wonder if the $15 Soundtrack-Only tier will actually get us the complete soundtrack.

Pretty sure it will (digital only though, the physical version is in a higher tier). With Skullgirls the soundtracks can still be had for $14.99 and is complete afaik.

Edit: Missed that that Kikuta stretch goal was passed already, so it's at the very least 120min of music by him. Ravi wrote on neoGAF that he's paid by minutes of music, and that amount is thus unlooped.

I think I'd like it more without all the percussion.

Announcement trailer for Switch (which wasn't a confirmed platform up to now, with new music at the end I think):

New music piece: Ajna's Theme
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gj1kRe0U5tQ

Some tidbits by the producer (Ravidrath on NeoGAF):
Quote:
I've said it before, but commissioning awesome game music from the likes of Yamane and Kikuta might be my favorite part of my job.

And I've got a ton of awesome stuff banked for the future as we reveal more levels, etc.

Like, the battle theme in the AX2017 sizzle reel and another battle theme I can listen to looped all day, pretty much.

Generally music falls into two categories for us: environmental and cinematic.

For environmental stuff, we mostly provide art, a story summary for that region, and some keywords. In almost all cases, he's nailed these on the first try. But in the cases where he hasn't, we'll follow up with some references to help guide him towards the feeling we're looking for.

For cinematic / character stuff, which is more emotionally ambiguous and difficult to describe, we start out with reference music, as well as story summaries and keywords.

And for what it's worth, virtually all of the "misses" are still great pieces of music, so we find other uses for them. For example, one track for a particular sequence in the game didn't fit what we were looking for, but made a great general tension / excitment / shit happening track. So we kept that for that purpose, and then provided additional reference to get what we were looking for on the other one.

In addition to this, I walked Kikuta through the entire story over a lovely dinner when I was in Tokyo for TGS last year, so he'd have a sense of what we were looking for. And we also sent over a translated outline of the entire story after that.

He promised that the music at the end would make people cry.

For Ajna's theme in particular, it was always envisioned as being the same theme as the main theme, just as a more personal, quiet take on it. So we started with reference for the main theme, and then once we got that done, we had him prepare the Ajna theme "remix."

Because each region has its own exploration and battle theme, this game will have a LOT of battle music. Not to mention boss music. So you should have quite the playlist for your running. Estimating around 15-20 tracks that would fit that description?

I need to actually sit down and add all this up, but I'd estimate that we've probably got around an hour of music right now.

The full soundtrack will be two discs with altogether 61 tracks:

As mentioned in the OP the physical OST is in the $100 tier and up. On another forum the producer stated several times that things like collector's edition will stay backer only, so I'm going to guess this is true for the soundtrack CDs as well.
