Is Crime Fighters 2's music all by Yamane? The game credits both her and Hideaki Shikama for sound.

That's correct, but I'm pretty sure she did 100% of the music, since in Moo Mesa and Bucky'O Hare, Hideaki Shikama/Kashima is credited for doing sound programming only.
But I guess that isn't good enough to leave out him out entirely. :P |

Yeah, I know of a few other games where he's credited with SFX/programming only (arcade Quarth & The Simpsons), so I think that's probably right, but you know Konami and their ambiguity. >:(
Was double-checking your info because you/VGMPF get in touch with composers a lot, so maybe - - ! |

Track 08 and 10 alone are worth this disc - instant 5 stars. Especially track 10.

I can second this oppinion, with track 8 and 14 being my favorites from Thunder Cross II. Tracks 31 and 34 are also very nice. Great music!

Kartus Part 2 always reminds me of Axelay's Burning (the lava stage), with that saxophone sound, even if Axelay is a lot more melancholic. Both games also have a different tune for each boss.
