Interesting, 12 CDs.

X1 to X6, that's 5 discs from the previous X collection, 0ne disc for X7, X8, and Command mission, up to 8 discs so far. Irregular Hunter X and Alpha-lyla, another 2 discs, up to 10, the Xtremes games, maybe another disc, up to 11 discs.

We are going to get nex stuff for sure.

I thought more like 1 cd per series (x1~x8)
with x cyber mission, x2 soul eraser, x command mission, irregular hunter x

but honestly, for cyber and soul, not sure there could be 1 cd each

The numbers add up for me: Rockman X1-8 (including the e-Capcom promo), Command Mission, and Irregular Hunter make 10 CDs, plus 11 if they actually plan to include the GBC spin-offs since both game's soundtracks aren't extensive, which then leaves a single disc free. I'm guessing they will either include the Rockman X jazz album OR add a special arrangement album on their own. Personally, I'm inclined to believe they'll pursue the former more than the other given Capcom's current track record (no pun intended).

Well, E-Can did use 10 discs for 10 games, so perhaps the same will be in here? Like this:
Disc 1 - Rockman X
Disc 2 - Rockman X2
Disc 3 - Rockman X3 (Snes)
Disc 4 - Rockman X3 (Saturn/PS)
Disc 5 - Rockman X4
Disc 6 - Rockman X5
Disc 7 - Rockman X6
Disc 8 - Rockman X7
Disc 9 - Rockman X8
Disc 10 - Rockman X Command Mission
Disc 11 - Irregular Hunter X
Disc 12 - Rockman X: Cyber Mission / Rockman X2: Soul Eraser

Yeah, that should be about right; I had forgotten Rockman X3 has a 32-bit port.

Hmm, but on the boxset, X1/X2 were on the same disc and both versions of X3 were on the same disc. If anything, I was thinking they'd pair X1 with Irregular Hunter, since that OST is technically arrangements.

Two longshots to consider are the Rockman X arrange and the vocal themes from the series.

like ff iv that was on 1 cd and the recent ost have 2 cds now
what you can do with this one, you can do with other ones

so they could rise the time lentghs for tracks (that won't be a bad thing)

GoldfishX, I was pondering that, too, and would be the apt course of action from their part, but taking the ROCKCAN box set as reference, it wouldn't be surprising if they do decide to do the same. Whatever the case may be, we'll soon find out, but what truly captivates my attention is if, besides this, this anniversary will net us something else in the form of a new entry to the series...because I think it's about time.

Irregular Hunter is kinda big, though; takes up a whole disc at least. Though I'm not really expecting IH since the E-Can didn't have Rockman Rockman, but eh.

please include the unused x8 music (and anything else you can find) capcom please

also next priority: an actual zero/zx box (no, not rmrz/tunes), and an exe/rnr box

news sites have the details of the series and it's as I previously written (but it wasn't hard to guess)
I guess more details (what series on what cd) will come with tracklist

I hate you Capcom... now I have to come up with like $200 somehow for this thing when I already legitimately own like 80% of the music already.

No point to this boxset whatsoever.

I can think of one point - if they finally included full composer information. Wishful thinking, I'm sure...

Just like a narrow-minded post! It's a collector's item for sure, and a good chance to have all that music in one box if you missed out on all the albums beforehand.

e-Capcom mentions X1, X2 and X3 SNES will be new recordings, so they'll get to fix all those flubs from the first box (and introduce new ones, naturally). Liner notes written by the likes of Kinuyo Yamashita, Setsuo Yamamoto, Toshihiko Horiyama, Kento Hasegawa, Mitsuhiko Takano and a "large format booklet" with art from Hitoshi Ariga.

BTW: This is also worth 12,600 JPY.

At the current exchange rate right now, 12,600 yen is almost $128.

I'm kind of surprised no one has mentioned X4 Saturn at this point in the thread... but I doubt that will make the cut.

Maybe that will be in the third box for the 25th or 30th anniversary...

Anyone else kind of itching to see a tracklist...? We should be something fairly soon, right? I probably won't see my box until the new year however...

So the special thing is the X8 special sound CD..... lol. I already saw how the box looks and is pure laziness, if you are not going to make something special like the e-can, at least draw some new artwork.

Yeah, but at least this thing isn't horribly overpriced... this thing costs half as much as the e-can and may have just about or a little more music.

I wonder if the bonus track will be any good... I liked the bonus track MM7 had in the eCan.

Also, can anyone confirm that both X3 scores are complete this time...? I can't remember off hand but wasn't there a track or two missing when they shared a disc on the X1-6 box?

Also looks like the Weapon theme for PS X3 is still mislabeled as "Ending 2"

Actually no... I take this back. You do realize when when CD Japan had this up for pre-order it cost SIGNIFICANTLY more than it does now? I mean I paid less than the $300 people currently want for it on Amazon.com but not much less. I guess I got *kinda* screwed pre-ordering it...??? Nice...

It seems like they did some mistakes with the track names on the booklet.

Hm, is the displayed tracklist broken for anyone else? The "Disc 12" header is near disc 9's section and the history byline is near that and... yeah.

At least there's no problem with the music... I haven't run into anything yet. After some of the mistakes on the Rockcan I wasn't really in the mood for anything like that on here.

JASRAC has some credits (also see here):

Rockman X3 (SFC): Kinuyo Yamashita (all except 3.01, 3.33, 3.34)
Rockman X5: Naoto Tanaka (all except 5.27, but maybe they just forgot) --ending has extra people
Rockman X6: Akemi Kimura
Others: Capcom Sound Team

So maybe the liner notes have more.

From here Hasegawa was main in Irregular Hunter X and Kobuchi helped doing all VAVA tracks (I believe new tracks in VAVA mode only: 11.04, 11.11, 11.13, 11.25; not Rockman X1's 11.05/06, she helped on that mode when the development was ending)

EDIT: liner notes

Setsuo Yamamoto:
- in charge, lacking time asked for help (one track each):
> Satomura (Iwai): Snow Mountain [Icy Penguigo?]
> Kadota (Takehara): tower [Boomer Kuwanger?]
> Tomozawa: Airport [Storm Eagleed?], power plant (asked for another) [Spark Mandriller?]
> Horiyama: password
- rest is him, "probably", 28 tracks counting them
- sound designer: Joukagi (instrument/hw help, etc)

Kinuyo Yamashita: X3

Toshihiko Horiyama: X4

Naoto Tanaka: X5~X8 synth info

Yuko Komiyama
- X7: Awake Road Again~Highway Stage
- X8: main
- Command Mission: help

Shinya Okada
- X7: Combination~vs Mega Scorpio, Stage Select 1
- Command Mission: main, "Fight! X"
- X8: guest, "ARMOR ARMARGE STAGE" arrange

Kento Hasegawa: Irregular Hunter X main, +20 tracks (bonus movie Day of Sigma?)

Mitsuhiko Takano: Soul Eraser (music-making comments)
