I was buying stuff through YJA and came across this one and thought it might, at the very least, be amusing:
http://page6.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/f86341491 Really? 120k yen? Obviously, this got be a joke, because I can't understand otherwise. I thought this one stayed near 30k yen new. Is this the highest a vgm album has been asked for? The highest I had ever seen was near 50k yen for a RO doujin album. |

I've seen some people asking for 300,000 Yen about $3,000 USD which is crazy.
That 120,000 price is for a factory sealed copy. For a complete copy with obi, sticker set etc, you'll be looking at 35,000 - 50,000 Yen. |

120.000 JPY = 1.37382 USD
Japan Yen: 1 JPY = 0.0114485 USD United States Dollars 1 USD = 87.3478 JPY lol, with this money I could go to USA and buy it directly from David Wise. The album autographed would be a bonus. |

Oh yeah I forgot how weak the dollar is right now, so yeah it would be even more. I'd prolly say Goemon albums are the most expensive series to buy..

In such case I'd be happy enough with just an used complete copy, but it's still quite a lot, there. ... Another one off my reach. |

Most of the top-priced auctions on YJA tend to be the same old Sound Horizon albums, don't know if they ever actually get sold or what. As for albums that actually got sold, that classic Dracula ~New Classic~ eBay auction from back in the day (sold for more than $4000 iirc) is the highest priced, most lunatic sale I've seen.

Does anyone know why the CD says "Originarl sound version"? Hehehe.

Because the Japanese aren't all that good at English?

Made just a couple changes, one might be sort of odd so I'll explain it. Basically that font used in the booklet is a travesty and it's impossible to tell what is a dakuten and a handakuten. But track 26, which is "Klubba's Kiosk", had a character with a handakuten, パ, but it should really be a dakuten, バ (the first would make it "kurappa", the second would make it "kurabba"), plus if you look really hard enough you can compare them in the booklet and see.
One track was just missing a character. I added the ディクシー&ディディー (Dixie & Diddy) subtitle in the Japanese title, since it was missing it. |

The disc says "Originarl sound version", so I added that to the soundtrack titles.

I still laugh inside when I see that. They couldn't decide on l or r, so this time they just picked both.

Myrkul, why did you remove the fourth title line? The disc has an alternate title with the typo "Originarl" instead of "Original". Isn't it more accurate to list both titles?

I changed the instances of "kuroko" in tracks 11 and 28 to "croco". It's kana so I'm sure that's what they were trying to say. You can change it to "kroco" though, if you'd like, since the whole Kremlin theme, but when I type kroco it looks too weird.
I didn't change any translations though. There are some I'd translate differently, but I don't think that matters. |

I don't remember the exact price of my posted auction, but it was over 100k 円 which is absolutely insane (was a sealed copy too). Why are the PSCN releases so expensive in general? I cannot believe there is such a high demand, even for 'unknown' games like Treasure Hunter G you pay 100 bucks easily. Crazy stuff

I read that Mining Melancholy is also absent from this album. Is this true?
This CD is my last hope! |

Correct, it is not on this or any of the DKC2 soundtracks.

A copy with OBI + sticker just ended at 151,000 Yen ($1,477.91 USD)
http://page2.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/b225012528 I know this soundtrack is one of the hardest to come by, yet it seems I severely underestimated my bid on it. No way in hell am I able to slap down an entire month's worth of income on a single soundtrack CD. Unless Nintendo somehow decides to re-release the entire DKC soundtracks on CD I'm never going to be able to nab a copy of this album at this rate... |

The pricing on this album has indeed gotten pretty insane. If you look at successful auctions on YJA, it regularly sells for 100,000 yen now - and that's for a copy with no extras included (i.e. only the disc, booklet and case). I find that shocking, but it is what it is I guess.

Sold my mint complete copy for around $1k
It is what it is. Can't justify holding a CD that's worth this much. |

Just saving this for reference: 163,000 Yen for a complete copy (non-sealed).
