For completeness and accuracy I updated all the discs with accurate tracktimes, the only notable update was disc 2 track 40 which had before 2:00, after the update 3:00. That is the reason no one could get the Disc 2 info from the VGMdb freedb server.

For RE0, Seiko Kobuchi is the only composer listed in the game credits, while the rest are sound designers and administrators. Are you certain that Komoto and Kinugasa are credited with those tracks?

I see different auctions on YJ now for this box, prices are all around 4000 yen (USED), but it sounds me strange.
Could these be bootlegs? Or value is not so high like I thought? |

No, those aren't bootlegs. You won't see any bootlegs on YJA ever, basically.

Yeah, but sometimes there's some exceptions.

I would really kill to see a composer breakdown for Resident Evil 0.

Shouldn't that indeed confirm that Seiko Kobuchi is the only composer? Last edited by Nisto; May 10, 2011 at 03:04 PM. |

Nisto - I already said that in my post. I've asked Seiko Kobuchi about the discrepancy between game and booklet credits for an upcoming interview. Might take a while to publish though.

Yeah, I knew you said that. I just kind of wanted to bring it up again.
It's very nice to hear you're doing an interview! I've always been interested in a composer breakdown for all tracks from the Biohazard series. Last edited by Nisto; May 10, 2011 at 03:02 PM. |

I've glanzed at the booklet, I don't think they say that they composed anything.
The tracks they comment (the ones Prime Blue posted) are more like the general motif, where are they used, favorite tracks, etc. If they are sound designers and such makes sense they'll know the tracks enough (gave directions, etc) to comment. |

Say, how's it going with that interview? Still in progress?

I have extracted Masami Ueda's comments from the booklet.
Spoiler:
Uchiyama did the first half, and Nishigaki did the latter half of Annette's Recollection from Biohazard 2. Full composer breakdowns for Biohazard 2 and 3 can now be found here and here. Last edited by Nisto; Jul 29, 2011 at 11:05 AM. |

I know this thread is like quite old now (a month since last post) but I thought it may be best to post this here instead of making a new thread anyway
I have the Biohazard Sound Chronicle 6 CD soundtrack but it says Catalogue Number MICA-0504 does this mean I have a bootleg? seeing as topic has it as CPCA-10104 Some internet sites like Animeshop.net and Animeharu.com say the CN is MICA-0504 are they selling bootlegs? or where there 2 different kinds of these soundtracks and both CNs are correct? Anyone know much about this soundtracks lolz xD |

MICA-X is used by Miya Records, a label which sells bootleg.

I'm afraid you've indeed got a bootleg. I'll add this print to our database! I was not aware there were bootlegs of this.

The composer breakdown listed here for Biohazard 2 is different than what is listed under the individual Biohazard 2 OST.

I was going to update it. The credits I submitted here are not solid, I guessed them from translating the booklet - some were right and some were wrong.

Was the interview ever completed/published? It's been two years.. Still curious about that interview.

Just a quick question. I recently purchased the 15th anniversary reprint of this collection, and I've noticed that they have boosted the volume on Resident Evil 2's songs compared to the old 1998 OST (probably 3 and CV too, but I haven't got round to 3's disc yet and have never owned CV's soundtrack so I can't compare, they seem louder than some of the YouTube uploads though).
Is it just me, or are a few songs now clipping/distorted? It might be the awful speakers I have on this PC, or just my ears playing tricks on me as the recordings still seem the same as the old OST (except Second Floor, that one sounds clearer). If anyone that has owned this collection for years and has a good setup can confirm this, it would be much appreciated. |

I changed audio setup a few times throughout the years. I'm somewhat ignorant on the matter, so I'm probably going to spew a load of bollocks, but I guess one way to demonstrate the presence of differences would be to look at a track's "waveform". http://i.imgur.com/6iNKAVW.png I'm now wondering if this difference is only found on the reprints, due to how everything music related has got louder over the years. Also, I think it might only be 2's disc that has these huge differences, as the Resident Evil 3 disc has only received a very minor boost in volume, sometimes it's not even distinguishable between them. |

Does anyone recall where, if at all, 5.71 "BEGINNING" is used in Resident Evil Zero? I've been racking my brains trying to remember, because it does sound familiar, but it could just be from listening to the box. I've looked at a bunch of longplay videos expecting it to be an epilogue/ending/results theme of some sort, but I'm not finding it. I've also gone through the game discs and I can't find it among any of the BGM, movie or demo (cutscene) files. On the other hand, it is present on the Trial Edition (bgm_12). So I'm starting to think maybe it's an unused track?

Having just heard one of Seiko Kobuchi's contributions for Demon's Castle, I think it's safe to say she composed at least the main theme for the Chapel in Biohazard 0 (5.42). I realize this is a sample (from Spectrasonics' Distorted Reality libraries), so anyone could've done this piece, but it's quite likely she has re-used some RE0 samples. At the end of the day though, I guess it's still just speculation, so I shall refrain from putting it in the album notes.

I've asked a friend of mine to extract all notes from this album, maybe that could help with some credits ? Here's the Link.
