Default N/A: Tengen Tetris

Is this an actual official release of music? No tracklist or links or any other information, and it's classified as Other for some reason.

I'm just going to deactivate this album in the meantime.

Edit: replaced with a different entry

It looks to me like he was just adding game rips, based on his other entry which I rejected.

I was joking... you know I'd delete half of the database if it depended on me.

C'mon boys seriously, this is not even funny, what's the point. The site is already losing its sense with all the daily useless crap being added, not sure I see the big picture here.

But you do what you want in the end, you don't have to answer me. Maybe in the future I'll be ordering my chocolate cakes from VGMdb, why not.

Ok, this is not the first post you make criticizing regular members work..
So what's the matter?
Amazing number of reprints? Enclosed promos ? Bootlegs ? Hentai game's music ? Touhou doujins ?

How do you see vgmdb ? Should we stop posting stuff, is our goal achieved?
I clearly see you are unsatisfied.. so i'd like to know what you don't like.. what is making vgmdb losing its sense..?

Oh.. and if you were joking.. let me tell you it is not funny.

There will always be some disagreement in the community with individual decisions as well as with the overall site direction, but as long as the site leadership keeps focused on the stated goal of researching and archiving game music, then everything will work itself out. I can say that so far, in cases where we did something that was counter to my original inclination, that the end result always ended up something that I was pleased with. (The example that comes most quickly to mind is the inclusion of Western fan remix project albums.)

Future expansions shouldn't be feared either. Mostly we're talking about expanding into anime, but there will be a logical separation of sites and searches with unification occuring where it makes sense, such as the discographies.

Well, I personally don't think gamerips should be added to the database. Period. Maybe someone will eventually create a site to hold the plethora of gamerips that are out there. Too much work, though.

I could see a possibility for redbook audio, but in a sense it deviates a bit.

In my humble opinion, I'm truly satisfied with the site. Plus, it's been a GOOD while since I interacted in a forum once more, and this place has made me come out from that shadow. =)

=P

Y'know, I'm thinking at the moment of all the Touhou doujins that aren't even listed here. I remember the day Giga was adding entries and most, if not all of them were Touhou-related.

This not only relates to Touhou, I'm sure there are bound to be game-related doujins not listed in VGMdb.

1. This is VGMdb, not The Database of LuxKiller65's Personally Approved Albums
2. If you have nothing nice to say, I'd prefer you keep a dignified silence
3. Since you didn't take the hint last time (and PsychoZeke had to jump in to cover for you), you can consider this a warning for trolling

It's ok. I am agree with SS, we can't please everyone.
I talked on private a few times with LuxKiller65 on the past and everything went fine.

I am just personally surprised someone "can" complains about the stuff of the database... if you don't like what is posted (and what will be posted), just don't look at it. I really don't see how vgmdb is losing its sense.

Don't forget anyone is free to post stuff he likes, you should go ahead and send a few newer entries yourself.
That's what i am doing to balance Blah's doujins

Again, please don't take it personally Gigablah. If you can't accept people's diverging opinions with peace of mind - for as dumb said opinions might be - then sorry. I didn't insult anyone nor anyone's participation here, I just expressed a doubt. You're the one patronising and being aggressive I see, and I just thought the bosses of VGMdb were different from those of your average forum, where you get banned for anything you say that they don't agree with. But I guess having a title changes the rules.

Sorry for trying to criticise, I thought it could lead to something good, not to feeling targeted, since I don't even know any of you how could I be targeting people anyway. So yeah, next time I'll shut up and everything will be perfect, what a dumbass ignorant I am for not agreeing and letting you know.

Passive-aggressive much?

It's entirely possible to voice a "diverging" opinion without being insulting. You crossed the line when you made that completely unnecessary snark about member's contributions and the direction of the site. It's creating a toxic atmosphere which I will not permit on these forums. This behavior has got to stop.

If you want your criticisms to "lead to something good", then please refrain from antagonizing others with sarcasm and dismissing their reactions as "taking it personally". A small amount of respect goes a long way.

Nevermind, this site is your baby so I understand your seriousness about it. The picture was merely a joke to see what people thought of the story, and the way I wrote the comments was purposedly exaggerated. Thought you'd get the joke, but we must have different ironies, point.

Oh well. Tone it down a bit, and I'll try my best to be less uptight. Deal?

I don't know if it would deviate much from the main objective, maybe so. I do know that there are some games that have the music in rebook fashion but no official release. If "Digital Release" counts here, why not rebook audio, it's still music from a game, right? Anyway, if this is not a good direction for the site then so be it, I have no complaints.

What is "the box" that people are supposed to think outside of anyway? Hmm. Maybe it's similar to the Borg from Star Trek who dwelled as a collective hive-mind within a...box/cube. Those that deviated from this hive-mind would, in effect, be thinking outside of the box. it has both a figurative and a literal meaning.

The key is to differentiate between music released on it's own and music released as part of a game. Redbook audio is just another way of storing the audio for a game, only it's more easily accessible than most other, more obscure file formats. You can compare Redbook to a PC game which has the game's music stored as .ogg files in an easily accessible folder.
