I just noticed that the discography has not been updated with the following albums I submitted:
http://vgmdb.net/db/albums.php?id=9091
http://vgmdb.net/db/albums.php?id=9092

I'll upload scans of both albums anytime soon.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll take a look at them tonight and try to verify all the artists with a Japanese source page (unless someone beats me to it.) It'll be awesome if you could upload some scans for those.

So is Yūzō Koshiro some kind of official romanization now? The macrons really make his name look bizarre on the album pages.

I think this edit can be easily rejected. Probably the macrons have been added because it is on Wikipedia. Although the profile on Ancient website doesn't provide the official romanization, all albums with "Yuzo Koshiro" on the front cover doesn't have macrons, like this.

I just noticed on (American) iTunes there's a whole selection of Koshiro soundtracks for sale under the name Yuzo Koshiro Best Selection Vol. X, all with the same album art. Can someone find out when these were released?

Edit: Sorry, "Yozo Koshiro" best selection. Apparently someone didn't look at either the cover art or the artist name...

EDIT VER2: Someone else had already noticed this back in August last year...

Where else has Koshiro used the heavily classical style as heard on Actraiser, Actraiser 2, Story of Thor 2, and Ten Plants?

He's done plenty of orchestral material elsewhere, but I haven't heard anything even remotely in the same style as those four.

Beyond Oasis, Warriors of the Lost Empire, Dragon Ball Online, Culdcept?

They're not really in the "classical" style like you mentioned, but they're orchestral/symphonic and the closest I could think of.

Saw an advertisement for this on a recent Supersweep live stream. Doesn't seem to be published by them, however:

Koshiro is composing the music for Gibiate, an anime airing next year. It's his first anime as far as I know. First sample sounds very old school: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sq9mNXd2NKA

He also uploaded a short video yesterday talking (in English) about Druaga, Gradius, and Space Harrier: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tLqbixY5H0s

Quote:
Dotemu, Lizardcube and Guard Crush Games are thrilled to reveal that Yūzō Koshiro and Motohiro Kawashima, the original Streets of Rage series’ incomparable composers, will be joined by an all-star ensemble in contributing brand new tracks for the Streets of Rage 4 soundtrack.

Thanks to the help of Brave Wave Productions, a music label that brings the work of Japanese game musicians to global audiences, Streets of Rage 4 will feature original music from:

- Yūzō Koshiro (Streets of Rage 1, 2 & 3, Sonic the Hedgehog, The Revenge Shinobi, Shenmue I & II,...)
- Motohiro Kawashima (Streets of Rage 2 & 3, Shinobi II, Batman Returns,...)
- Yoko Shimomura (Street Fighter II: The World Warrior, Kingdom Hearts I, II & III, Legend of Mana, Parasite Eve,...)
- Hideki Naganuma (Jet Set Radio & Future, Super Monkey Ball, Sega Rally 2,...)
- Keiji Yamagishi (Ninja Gaiden, Tecmo Bowl,...)

More information and surprises about the Streets of Rage 4 soundtrack will be revealed in the future.

Regarding The Stickman is back:
Quote:
The Stickman actually has been released with the different name, though. I can't say more about that as it's... classified.
Via Yuzo Koshiro himself.

He also mentions that he may have been asked to compose the music from The Super Shinobi II / Shinobi III but he is not sure. It would have been after Sega decide to reboot the development, although some tracks from the scrapped version have been rearranged and used in the final version of the game.

Koshiro's involvement with SolSeraph, an ActRaiser clone by Chilean developer ACE Team, is very hard to verify even just three years after the release of the game. His name is not included in the credits, so I'll put the sources here just in case, also because it's easy to mix it up with the shooter Sol Cresta for which Koshiro also composed music.
Although it's officially called the "opening theme" of SolSeraph, Koshiro's composition was used on the title screen and in the announcement trailer. Here's the track list for the SolSeraph Original Soundtrack, released for free on YouTube by ACE Team. I think the image of the CD album is just a mockup. According to the game's startup screen and credits, the rights belong to ACE Team although SolSeraph was published by Sega. All tracks with the exception of Koshiro's contribution (which wasn't uploaded) are said to be composed and produced by Patricio Meneses (in-house musician of ACE Team):

Spoiler:
01 Plains of Widhu
02 Pria's theme
03 The Lair
04 Knight of Dawn
05 The Heavens
06 Sekh Desert
07 Dark Clouds
08 Arunan Isles
09 King of Floods
10 Vale of Yeg
11 Yemo's theme
12 Younger Gods
13 Mount Agnir
14 Perkunos
15 Erebos Castle
16 Nyx
17 Chaos
18 End credits
