Eye of the Beholder II PC98 Composer?
Hey there, everyone.
I wanted to ask people here something who are probably much more familiar with the Capcom sound team than I am. Capcom ported Westwood's Eye of the Beholder II to the PC98. It retains all the DOS music, but there are now in-game songs for each main section of the game. I ripped the VGM files if you want to listen to them. https://vgmrips.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=2124 My main question is if anyone has any idea on who would have done the game's new in-game songs? (I'm sure it's the same person who converted the DOS music.) I tried playing through the game, and there are credits, but they are just copied directly from the Amiga/DOS version of the game. None of the Capcom staff is credited. Not surprised because Capcom didn't really put credits in their games around that time. If I were to take a guess, I would say Tatsuya Nishimura. He's the only Capcom composer whose style I'm familiar with because I knew of him from the games he did at Tose prior to working for Capcom. I tried to ask him but he doesn't respond to people. I would say he likely did the SNES version of Eye of the Beholder just because it sounds like his style. I notice most of the in-game songs use a chromatic scale, so if there's a Capcom composer known for doing that, it's probably them. Again, I ask here because the VGMPF forums have been deleted, and this was the next best place I could think of to ask people. Thanks for your time. |
