Default Crash's Scan Request Thread

Every week, I tell myself, "This is the week I will start scanning more albums for the database." And every week, I end up not doing so. I just can't seem to motivate myself. I figure that if I had a little more incentive and direction, I could be more productive. And what could be more of an incentive than social pressure?

So, I am opening this thread to see what albums from my collection people would like to have scanned. Whether it's a complete set of new scans, missing scans inside booklets or larger scans to replace some of the early placeholders, go ahead and post your suggestions. All of the albums listed in my collection are authentic original releases, though there is the occasional album that is missing the liner notes or never had any inserts in the first place.

I will try to do 5-10 albums a week. Priority will be given to popular suggestions or requests from VGMdb staff.

I will edit the areas below to keep track of my current queue and the albums I have scanned from this process, including the particulars of what I was able to scan (e.g., booklet, obi).

Music from Brandish 3: Spirit of Balcan

I would like that album scanned, assuming it has a booklet.

That's a generous offer Crash, your collection is amazing, and being able to scan is a great help for the database.

Sincerely, the top priority scans, should be albums we are missing credits, or incomplete credits.. very obscure albums without any scans then.

Your list is really huge, and just looking at it fastly, no album came to my mind with an ultimate urge to be scanned..
Though there are tons & tons of albums that have no complete sets.

If anyone owns these albums and can help scanning, the whole staff would be glad and thankfull for your help.

Here's a first "wave" of requests i could make, but again if someone else find something that is more "usefull", it will take priorities.

I own these albums, so I'd suggest moving those to the back of the queue.

PC-Engine World - Monster Maker CD II ~Yami no Ryuukishi~
Sol Divide
Sword & Sorcery -GM-PROGRESS-1-

I'm going to start scanning all my albums later this summer, once I finish scanning all my Brick Bradford strips.

Myrkul's choices are all great ones. I'd add Royal Blood to that list as well.

good grief man, your collection is astronomical! very kind of you to offer to do this.

I'd like to second Myrkul's request for Alien Soldier and Guardian Heroes scans. The only other album there that I'm particularly interested in seeing scans for at the moment is FM Sound Module Maniax.

Very kind offer, thanks a lot.

I agree with Myrkul the older/more obcure the better.

My personal choice would be the SNK albums because factual, confirmed info about these isn't the easiest to find around, it's usually unrealiable.

Thanks a lot, Crash.

After you complete the priorities I would be grateful if you could also upload scans of the albums below. Some albums already have scans, but are in low resolution and isn't possible to confirm the credits.

Game Music Concert ~ The Best Selection
Game Music Concert 3
Game Music Concert 5 ~ Live Best Collection
Arc The Lad Piano Album
Grandia Original Soundtracks
Grandia Original Soundtracks II
Perfect Selection XEXEX

These are not really top priority Revoc.
I did not want to request too much from Crash, but there's still tons more album that could be more interesting than these.

I wish we could have more contributors, there's around 20~30 persons owning all of these albums.

I have made some Scans requests, in private.. Some answered with positive answers, but still waiting scans for most of them.
Big thanks so far goes to Nick G that contributed very fastly.
Suicider that is doing all he can for now.
and Vert1 for Bare Knuckle III.

I think i am gonna recheck Crash's albums and ask more.. If he (you, Crash) does not mind having a huge request queue.

I don't really mind having a large-ish queue (say, 100 or so), as long as other people can take the information from the scans and use it to fill in any missing information (since I can't read Japanese). CHz has been doing a great job of filling in those details so far.

I do get concerned about the completeness of some of the entries, though. For example, I have a lot of albums that are missing obis. Booklets, backs, and obis are standard on the vast majority of albums, but there are some albums that may have non-standard items (like an insert or sticker) that we might not know about. Unless someone bought a sealed copy, there would be no way to be sure that we have everything from a particular album.

If anyone else has a copy of the albums that I've already scanned and can fill in any items that I might be missing, that would be great.

Ok, i added around 60 more albums to the request queue.
If anyone have any other request that could have a higher priority, let us know.

How do i justify my choices?
- Release date (i do not request albums that were released after 2000), but i consider everything before as rarer because most of them are out of print.

- Rarity (in term of number of owners), albums owned by less than 3 persons are on the top of the list.. the number is growing but never goes higher than 10 persons owning these albums.

So, the list is a bit random.. and cover nearly every manufacturer BUT falcom & konami, since it's the largest part of Crash's collection, they will come maybe later.

Again, i call for help to every users of the database that are able to scan.
If you have questions, regarding the method, the size, how to upload .. etc.. drop me a PM and i'll answer.

I'll browse my collection through the database and contribute whatever I can. Unfortunately, when I first began collecting I didn't keep the obi's for the first 20 albums or so. My next target, Macross VF-X2, was one of those albums

I, too, will be scanning what I can, even if I don't have that big of a collection. Starting by tackling the Out Run Box some time soon, which will surely take insanely long, even without scanning the booklet.

Oops, seems like it's "Sound Collection I" that needs scans, and not vol. II.
I rectified that on the request queue.

Yeah, Zane was kind enough to order a copy for me awhile back. I got it scanned as well as Swinging Circuit, which I forgot to add to my collection.

I'm having trouble locating the Task Force Harrier album, so it would be best to put that one on hold for now.

Can you add scans for the Sega System 16 Complete Soundtrack albums? There are scans of the front and tracklist, but none of other parts.

Would you mind to scan Rie Sugimoto's albums (Celceta, Heal Ring, Krelia, Lilia)? I've never seen HQ scans for these -- they are quite rare and pricey nowadays.
