The Square Enix site will only accept Japanese credit cards. Does anyone know a way to get around this?

I use CD Japan's special request service for any of the exclusives from the Square Enix e-store - I've already gotten it added for order:

http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/detailview....EY=NEODAI-4503

it's a little more expensive, but about the only way other than waiting for it to show up on YJA to be assured to get it.

If anyone's thinking of getting this best hurry as the e-store will stop taking orders as of October 31st.

Ugh. I'd be all over this if they weren't picture discs or if the picture discs looked better. Oh well, I guess with all of the Lightning Returns stuff this season I would have probably had to pass anyways.

I wish CDJ would hurry up and add FFX Remaster, Nobunaga box and the Phantasy Star box so I can make one order instead of two. :'(

You can always modify (add items, split, etc.) orders later.

No, you can't:

Important Note About PayPal
It is not possible to make any change to an order paid with PayPal that would result in any change in the total amount. This is because it is not possible to modify the amount of any PayPal transaction that's already been finalized. So, the easiest and quickest way to make a change would be to cancel your order first. Contact us by email to do so. Place your order again after we issue a full refund via PayPal.

You shouldn't use PayPal in the first place. Get a CC, it's really not that hard.

Wrong, I have a credit card, that is not the problem. I use PayPal so that my bank doesn't charge me a currency conversion fee when I order things in JPY. Thanks for assuming, though.

I see, but it is your choice then to use an inferior paying method. You have to deal with the consequences, I fear.

Also, I'm sceptical about the net gain of this approach. You're aware that PP's conversion rate is always "subpar"?

It's not inferior, not sure where the PayPal hate is coming from:

PayPal exchange rate:
1 USD = 95.6418 JPY

XE.com/ucc
1.00 USD = 98.1767 JPY

The difference there is neglible.

The 3% charged from my bank completely negates any bonus points I get from CDJ so it's not worth using a credit card.

PayPal rate: 1000 JPY == 7.78 EUR
Yahoo finance rate: 1000 JPY == 7.45 EUR

Let's say I have an order with an amount of 7000 JPY (usually for me it's in that range).

With PP I pay 54.46 EUR, while with CC I would pay 52.15 EUR. The difference here is 2.31 EUR.

Let's apply your 3% fee to the 52.15 EUR: 1.56 EUR

This is less than the difference, so even with the CC I'm still cheaper. And with the CC I have some real protection against fraud, and not this fake "buyer protection" (which is none).

Thanks for the reply, James. Is this preorder process the typical procedure for how Square Enix releases their records? I ask because I found out about last year's FF Vinyls Box Set after it was released so I have no idea if Square Enix stayed silent on the topic of it being available at other retailers until after the preorder period.

Did they reveal that the FF Vinyls set from last year would be available at other retailers during the preorder stage?

I don't really remember exactly. The only thing that matters when dealing with Squix's e-store is whether something is marked exclusive or not. If it is, you have to special order it. If not it's generally available at other retailers.

Yes, I had to order it specially from CDJ last time. Why does it matter?

So there's going to be a JP release and an EMEA release which is limited to 1200, probably exactly the same:

I apologize for the brief thread resurrection. Noticed there's actually English printed too (unboxing video linked above) so I'm adjusting the tracklist.
