Ok i got a matter with this release regarding catalog number, i had the same problem with the Output64 series..

After further investigation, this album got 2 distributors, EFA (that is based in Germany), and Guidance Recordings (on US), they both use the same CD & scans.. and that's why we have both catalog numbers and that's pretty confusing. (check the back cover scan)

EFA use "50580-2", while Guidance Recordings use "GDRC-541".

So.. i am not sure if the CD needs a reprint or not, it's the same CD.. and i don't remember where i got the different release dates.

What do you think about it?

I think this may ultimately have to be solved by allowing multiple catalog numbers for an album, particularly since both numbers are present on the back. Also, it looks like there's a 3rd number present on the disc.

EDIT - On second thought, there are 2 distributors and 2 release dates, so now that we have the full information, maybe two releases is the way to go.

So I found some samples of this CD on Allmusic, and I can say with great confidence that this is not an original soundtrack. I was only able to find a few songs whose sources I could identify. Callin' You and Karma were the easiest because they match up with the in-game wave files, CALLINU.WAV and KARMA.WAV, and the songs match pretty closely (but are clearly remixed). The rest of them I'm not able to put with a game song. Unfortunately, I only had samples to work with. Still, this is Remix at best, and possibly even Original Work.

If anyone knows more about it, information would be greatly appreciated. I enjoy the Smuggler's Run soundtrack. This CD sounds more like generic techno and house remixes, unfortunately.

Also, a little odd how the entry we have marked as a reprint has an earlier release date than the parent album
