GFCA-143~4: WORLD SOCCER Winning Eleven 2009 MUSIC COLLECTION "AROUND THE WORLD"
It seems Konami is aiming for a very American Rock sound for this series, as the whole thing is english vocal songs with only 2 instrumentals.
The production quality is great sounding, so I would enjoy instrumental versions of these same tunes, as there's a nice variety of rock styles presented. But the non-believability of the lyrics end up ruining the experience for me. Let's face it: rockers just don't sing about how cool Soccer is, since most Americans don't give a shit about soccer anyways. But that's a moot point since the target JP audience likes the american sound and the inspirational "let's go team!" lyrics to go along with it, so it works just fine for the intended audience. (Just like how American NASCAR fans aren't listening to Sega's Dayyytooona song) |
