What's the source for the cat. number here? I'm seeing FGBG-4266.AR wherever I look, which makes sense if it's a Musea release.

The back scan says LC-9709 on it, right above the Musea logo. That said, FGBG 4266.AR is on the spine of the same scan, and Musea's own page has the FGBG catalog number, so go with that.

I agree. I think that LC-9709 was just a result of someone's misinterpretation of the scan.

So what's the deal with this album anyway? All but the first track are directly taken from the Shining Force III OST?

I think so, even though the ones on the OST are arranged as well and not directly from the game. weird.

So, just to be sure of what I am understanding.
This is this album, with less 4 tracks and 1 new one?
An original French release.

At first i thought that new track "could" be the 4 tracks of Shining Force III Arrange album into one track. But no, it really is a new one.

Do we have any more info about this cd?
I mean, it is a strange release to me. Not called even Shining Force 3, and the booklet does not even say "shining force 3" like its trying to run away from possible law suits. (its a theory. don't take me serious on that.)
I'm just honestly puzzled with this.

Ps: i did not compared with original shining force 3 ost booklet.

Musea is a French prog rock label and they were publishing some Japanese prog artists like Gerard in France. They liked Sakuraba and put out French prints of his original solo album Gikyokuonsou and an album he did with his old prog band Deja Vu. I guess they wanted more from him but they weren't in the business of VGM so they chose one of his Camelot arrange albums and replaced the few in-game tracks with a new original piece by Sakuraba and removed all branding of the game from the cover. It was game music being taken seriously by a western label but not as such. Yes, they probably also saved licensing fees to Camelot because of this but I don't think that was the point. Over a decade later they did an international print of his third solo album.
