Interesting composer breakdown. I was pretty confident that the New Donk City theme was a Kondo composition but, then again, I was convinced pre-lauch that the trailer music that became Fossil Falls was composed by Mahito Yokota so it shows how little I know!

I'm happy Koji Kondo still making new music, and his compositions on this release are quite good honestly. I'm not good on wild guesses, but i hope Kondo made more than 2 tracks this time [remeber Super Mario 3D World?] need to wait full sountrack to be released.

Just a selection? Come on, Nintendo, don't be so shy. I hope as many as possible will buy this, maybe then they'll realize that digital soundtracks are an option. I hope! Maybe there's also a chance for a full or semi-full soundtrack?

Edit: Just saw the album entry for the full soundtrack. EXCELLENT!!!!!!!

To me it's a little disappointed that he doesn't write more music nowadays. Especially since the bulk of his work was composed in the era where Nintendo was forced to heavily compress his scores leading to very low sound quality.

I haven't gotten to Bowser's Castle in the game yet but Steam Garden is my favorite level theme so far (only up to Luncheon Kingdom). Really nailed that cowabunga surfer sound with a 70's SHAFT Blaxploitation feel. It's glorious.

Glad we got tracklist breakdown. Hope that carries over to the full OST release.
