Call me speculative, but Hamasan = Yusuke Takahama?
I was listening to the Shin Nihon Pro Wrestling set from snesmusic. I thought it sounded like Takahama's music... then the penny dropped and I noticed Hamasan could well refer to Takahama. I checked other games developed/published by Varie and saw that Nage Libre was one of them, which Takahama worked on. All that considered, I can't imagine Hamasan being anyone else. Unfortunately I cannot find anything on Takahama's site to confirm that he composed for Shin Nihon Pro Wrestling -- it might be there somewhere but I'm blind and can't see it, he doesn't have an explicit list of games he worked on that I can see. EDIT: another Varie game here composed for by Hama San http://project2612.org/details.php?id=557 GMCL also says that Takahama goes by the name 'Hama' sometimes. See this thread for general notes about what I'm trying to do with these albums: https://vgmdb.net/forums/showthread.php?t=6420.
Game-by-game composer information is given on this album. Names double-checked with this site: http://homepage1.nifty.com/c-akimo/m...ag_l/mag10.htm (dead link now, sorry) Starting with this album, there's no reason to add the year to the title, as these albums only ran through September 1994. 01: Torneko no Daibouken: Fushigi no Dungeon Listed composer: Koichi Sugiyama Arranged album: http://vgmdb.net/album/2911 02~03: Mystic Quest Listed composers: Ryuji Sasai, Yasuhiro Kawakami OST: http://vgmdb.net/album/1229 04~05: Ranma 1/2: Akanekodan-teki Hihou Listed composer: Toshio Okamoto "Composer: Toshio Okamoto": http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm6720513 (23:49, screenshot) 06~08: Aretha Listed composer: Koji Abe "Sound Effects/Music: Tsuyoshi Tanaka, Kohji Abe, Kazuyasu Hiroe": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UgfAjWkQnwA&t=6m22s Guess Abe did all three of these themself. None of the "synthesizer version" staff appear to be credited on this album. 09~10: Aqutallion Listed composers: Tsukushi Sasaki, Chinako (ちなこ) JP: "Composer: Mint / Tukushi Sasaki; Sound Effect: Chinako": http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm15889359 (18:30 for Sasaki, 19:36 for "Chinako") US: "Sound Effect: C. Okayasu": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SOfqtifPwfA&t=5m10s Combining the credits, "Chinako" should be Chinatsu Okayasu of Tecmo. The album specifically credits them with composition, even though the games don't. 11~14: Monster Maker 3: Hikari no Majutsushi Listed composers: T's Music, CUBE "Title Composer: T's Music; Sound Creator: CUBE; Sound Composer: Aspect / Toshio Murai": http://gdri.smspower.org/wiki/index....ory_Archive_01 Track 11 is the title theme, so I guess CUBE did 12~14 because Murai isn't credited. EDIT (2019-07-21): Miyoko Takaoka wrote music for this, but likely not the whole soundtrack 15~19: New Japan Pro-Wrestling: Chou Senshi IN Tokyo Dome Listed composer: HAMASAN "Music Comprser: HAMASAN": hhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=puz37MR9GtA&t=40m40s Both this game (超戦士in闘強導夢) and that F1 game (中嶋悟のF1 グランプリ) were listed in the Target Entertainment works list: https://web.archive.org/web/20151009.../gamelist.html. So you're spot on that "HAMASAN" is Yusuke Takahama, Lunar. Nice work! 20~21: Thunderbirds: Kokusai Kyuujotai Shutsudou Seyo! Listed composer: Kennosuke Suemura "Sound: Kennosuke Suemura": http://www35.atwiki.jp/sfcall/pages/972.html 22~24: Pretty Soldier Sailormoon Listed composer: Takanori Arisawa Arranged album: http://vgmdb.net/album/6094 25~26: Winning Post Listed composer: Youichi Yamazaki OST: http://vgmdb.net/album/4262 27~29: Jutei Senki Listed composer: TAM-TAM (TAMTAM [タムタム] is a developer: http://www.tamtam.co.jp/) "Sound Produce: Kiyotaka Sato; Music Compose: Tsutomu Shimizu, Nobuhiro Makino": http://www35.atwiki.jp/sfcall/pages/1075.html. The track on Game Music Concert 3 is credited to both Sato and Shimizu, so Sato did compose as well. The piece that was arranged for GMC3 is track 27 here, so we can assign composition to that one. EDIT (2013-05-08): I originally linked to a fan arranger's credits for this game, but I've since found screen captures of the sound credits. This game's title is commonly romanized as "Jyutei Senki." 30~32: DESTRUCTIVE (Bazooka Blitzkrieg) Listed composer: STUDIO401 "Composer: Uchu-Jin": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n0Pfrm6bqL8&t=1m29s Studio 401 is a somewhat mysterious sound unit credited in a few games, like Magical Taruruuto-kun for the GB and Super Play Action Football for the SNES. Yoshiki Nishimura is registered with the Canadian Intellectual Property Office for Super Play Action Football, so he may be a part of Studio 401. It seems that "Uchu-Jin" is too. 33~35: SD Kidou Senshi Gundam 2 Listed composers: Studio Kumataro, PRO-MARS, Hi-Tech-Icchy "Sound Supervisor: Yuki Sabakuma ~Studio Kumataro~; Composer: Hi-Tech-Icchy, PRO-MARS": http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm15546142 (25:25, [1] [2]) This GMCL offshoot says that "Hi-Tech-Icchy" is the same person as "T. Ichida," who worked on a few SNES Yu Yu Hakusho games (he's credited as Namco Sound Staff on this album), and "1CH," who did music for Dragon Ball Z II for the NES (dead link now, sorry). TOSE had a hand in all of these games, but that's all I can really say about those associations. Super obscure guy(s). 36~40: Mouse-senyou Mario to Wario (Mario & Wario) Listed composer: Junichi Masuda "Music by Junichi Masuda": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W0NKCxhE3MA&t=1m16s Last edited by CHz; Jul 22, 2019 at 11:24 PM. |

Toshio Murai is credited with sound on the first Monster Maker, and it's listed on his website.

I managed to get a copy of the CD and artwork. I've made scans, but I don't know how to classify these:
This seems to be the front cover and the tracklist. I suppose it's meant to be cut out and folded like a booklet? I didn't expect the CD to come inside a 10x7.75in printed cardboard cut. It's got printing on the back as well. |

That front art could be simply called an insert. It just folds and serves as the Front art and "inside" art.

Like (too) many of the tracks on this album, the Thunderbirds tracks are also arranged/synthesizer versions, though it oddly isn't noted anywhere despite being clearly marked on all the others.
