And here I was thinking they weren't going to release this one.

It looks like Mitsuda took the release into his own hands and is putting the soundtrack out on his own Sleigh Bells label (Procyon Studio). His studio always does fantastic work, and the CDs are always immaculately produced. I'm really excited for this soundtrack.

Maybe not. They weren't able to stock Kid Icarus Uprising for some reason. Something about how Sleigh Bells sells exclusively through Amazon.co.jp now.

Mitsuda's site only lists Amazon.co.jp as an authorized seller.

Soo...is this Album coming out on the 27th of April...Or the 30th of April? Because the Amazon JP site says that this Album will be released on the 30th, just saying.

Also...Does any know where I can watch this Show at? I'm dying to hear how Mr. Mitsuda did on this Soundtrack!!! xD

27th, as seen on the back cover. Amazon isn't selling it on that date though for some reason. My guess would be because Sunday is an unusual release day. The 30th is on a Wednesday which is the usual day of the week things are released.

May I ask who rated this Album? I really want to know how this Album sounds as a whole, before I make a purchase for it...

I live in Japan and was able to preorder the album through Amazon.jp. My account says it should arrive sometime between April 30th and May 2nd. I caught the tail end of the show on T.V. I was kicking myself for forgetting about it when it aired.

It wasn't me who rated it (I'm not sure who would have since it's not out yet), but once it arrives I'll post my thoughts in this thread.

No problem

You can listen to samples of each track on the Sleigh Bells page if you're interested.

Sorry, I'm way late on this update. I completely forgot that I promised to share my thoughts once I got the album.

I've listened through the CD quite a few times now, and I have to say that I love it. The music has that unmistakable Mitsuda essence. There are certain tracks that remind me of his work on Lime Odyssey as well as Xenosaga Ep. 1. The orchestra sounds great and the whole album has a movie score quality to the production. That's not to say that it sounds like a movie score in the generic sense. It's still through-and-through a Mitsuda soundtrack, so you'll recall his game work more than anything else.

I just took a road trip with my wife yesterday through the beautiful Japanese mountains and countryside while listening to this. It was perfect. I highly recommend picking up this album if you have a way to do so.

I was actually rather disappointed in this score. It lacks a lot of the melodic and rhythmic stuff most people know Mitsuda for, the choral parts of songs just don't sound very good and there's a lot of strange synth and electronic effects scattered throughout songs that clash with the orchestral arrangements.

Considering the subject matter for the score, I felt that the electronic elements fit very well. From the standpoint of musical taste, I guess I would also prefer purely organic elements for most of these pieces. But considering the task, I think he blended them really well and created some really cool tracks.

In case some of you might be interested, Wayo is now offering the album: http://www.shop.wayorecords.net/en/movie/27-ison.html

So it's shipping from France and not Japan. And it's the same disc, imported from Japan.

Just out of curiosity, is there any rhyme or reason to the items Wayo will stock or any sort of heads up notification system? I would have held off on this if I knew I could get it slightly cheaper (just a month late) instead of ordering it from amazon.co.jp.

I would be interested in that as well. I rather wait for Wayo to stock something, then pay insane shipping rates and/or middleman fees.

In fact I'm now really considering to get this album from Wayo, even though I haven't sampled it yet.

I'm afraid there is no real logic, we usually consider this on a case by case basis, depending on the opportunities we are given. But I will raise the issue for sure.

Thanks for the link Zanasea. I'm having a lot of trouble trying to order via PayPal, errors are being returned saying there's no address found even though the address is clearly displayed on my order. This is very frustrating.
