Default Episode #009: Capcom Prologue Plus Alpha

Last month, Suleputer Records released a compilation CD titled "Capcom Music Collection Vol.0 - Prologue". The tracks are set up in Chronological order by year of release, and mainly uses only the Stage 1 theme songs from each game selected.

After importing the CD though, I was a bit surprised to see a total running time of only 33 minutes. Surely Capcom could have at least filled up the whole disc, as it was a collection of their own content! So I decided to fill in the gaps on this album for them, taking their 17 tracks and adding 28 more, for a total of 45 tracks now!

I hope you enjoy this expanded collection of Capcom's musical history.
"Capcom Prologue, Plus Alpha!" The full track listing used is posted below in the discussion thread.

Clever! Capcom music is awesome, too bad they weren't as inspired as you were while compiling the tracklist.

One thing I'd like to ask is why the two Street Fighter II tracks differ in their release dates?

The second Street Fighter II track is the SFC Super-Famicom sound version (the first was the Arcade release)

At the time, it was a huge deal to play SFII on a home console, so I figured an entry for the SNES version was warranted, and the sound is slightly different.

I've never heard anything from Higemaru Makaijima before, but this track sounds a lot like Yasuaki Fujita (Bunbun). Does this game have a soundtrack?

Also, I know I've heard this Lost Worlds track before. I can't identify where though.

Other new (to me) tracks I liked:
Warriors of Fate ~ The Battle of Bo Wang Po (Round 1-1)
Dungeons & Dragons Shadow Over Mystara ~ Battle at Trintan Village [sounds like Yoshino Aoki or Akari Kaida]

Well I think it's safe to say that based on the low page view numbers, this one was quite a flop, probably due to not having any interactions or comments between the tracks.
So yeah, just a straight run through of songs clearly isn't as desired.

Well, to be honest, your earlier podcast (I mean where you've been just hosting yourself) hasn't been as good as this, probably because of the music.

And I still would like to see the original format to come back. Also, what do you say at the ending of every podcast, I can't just seem to hear it right with my skills of listening english.

I am probably just talking too fast... I'll try to slow it down and speak more clearly. Thanks for the feedback.

It's usually a phrase about "all rights of the music used are reserved by their respective owners"
(meaning the copyrights are owned by X publisher and they can request us to take it down if they want)

and then a goodbye message of "Take Care, and Good Luck"
