Sup.

Just wondering about the scans, it says Special Edition on them. So, shouldn't they be in the Special Edition soundtrack?

And where did that catalogue number come from?

In any case, I'm about to upload some scans from my collector's edition, it's the european box, maybe the US box had different pictures?

There's another album with the same tracklist:
http://vgmdb.net/album/2722

It's listed on VGM Rush as the Collector's Edition soundtrack... seems like we have something to untangle =o

Was this album ever sold separately (as a physical release)? As far as I know it was only released as a pack-in bonus for the 'Collector's Edition' as well as digitally (with four bonus tracks) on DirectSong.

Hmm, did the European Collector's Edition not have the exact same cd as its US equivalent? Myrkul or Rimo, sort this out plz =D

That looks different from mine, but the tracklist is the same. Mine doesn't have tracklist printed on it actually, but it was pretty easy to verify.

I upped the scans temporarily to my webspace until we clear this thing.

The tracklist on both the US and EU version is likely the same, but do they look the same? :P

I guess in the meantime I should scan some other stuff.

The cat number on yours is different than the others.

Also, counting yours, it looks like there are at least 4 real printings of this album, including two for which scans were uploaded here:

http://vgmdb.net/album/2722

They all have the same tracklist, but different cover and disc art. Each printing should get its own entry, and we should try to figure out what the origins are for each edition.

Well, as said, mine comes from the Euro edition, but beyond that I have no idea.

The actual CD (GWSE-EU-UK-C3) comes from the European version of the "Special Edition". We can translate this catalog number like this: -Guild Wars Special Edition EUropean release Disc 3-. (sounds like catalog number & discs are the same on each european country)

There are different release for Special Edtion & Collector's Edition, it should be sorted out.

Mika recent scans are from the "real" Collector's Edition album.

European Collector's Edition was released on "26.04.2005" [GW-EU-UK-SD]
European Special Edition was released on "21.10.2005" [GWSE-EU-UK-C3]

and finally there is a re-release of the "Special Edition" on April 2006 [GW06-EU-C3]

NCS-GW-ST007-1 catalog seems to be the catalog of the 1st Digital Release from Direct Song.

Thanks, that clears things up a lot. We should be able to differentiate between all 4 of them now, complete with dates. I'll take care of adding the new albums, etc, this weekend after I get back, unless someone beats me to it.

Googling around suggests that the release date is 28 April for both the European and US editions (I think it was a worldwide simultaneous release?).

Anyway, I suggest that the 28 April 2005 US CD (SLV-GW-0025) be made the parent album, and the European printings be linked as reprints.

I took the date of "26" from mobygames. But now that you remember me about a woldwide release, it's probably the 28..

Ok, I made my first pass at this. We now have 4 separate album entries with the US one as the parent. Does anyone know if the first one was also an enclosure (in the US special edition perhaps.)

Also, I found no verification that NCS-GW-ST007-1 was the cat number for the first Directsong release, so I didn't add it.
