A recent edit changed all of the track times quite radically. This album already has 3 freedb lookups, so someone out there has a disc with the old times. Where do the new times come from?

Apparently there are multiple versions. My version has 14 tracks and a play time of 78 minutes and 58 seconds (and no track titles, despite being a legitimate version).

I know the 14 tracks versions.. This one seems legit.
I think it's a Russian exclusive though ? (can you confirm that pepak ?)

About the 45 tracks version (ex track 01 "1:32" and not "2:31"), i was not able to locate it, most on them are coming directly from p2p and illegal places, so i think it's problably a game rip floating around that is reflecting the official tracklist.
Would be nice if someone can confirm it.

My version is Polish, released by the distributor of NWN. Don't know about a russian version, or even if there is one.

The 45-track version is clearly legit, and what I think happened was that they basically just dumped all the tracks as they appeared in the game onto a CD (the same happened with Morrowind.) If I recall correctly the number of tracks and the names match exactly with the data files.

The source of confusion with the track lengths is that I believe they messed up and put them in the wrong order on the CD (or listed them in the incorrect order on the back.) I found this thread where someone listed the correct track order. If you look at the link, track 1, which should be "Main Theme" (2:31) is actually track 37 "Battle Dungeon 3" (1:32) and so on.

So as far as the actual track lengths are concerned, the previous list was probably correct, but the order of the track names was not (unless you go strictly by the back cover, in which case the incorrect might be correct, though it doesn't actually specify any track numbers.)

Just to repeat the info here, the correct track ordering is:
Quote:
01 -> 37
02 -> 30
03 -> 31
04 -> 32
05 -> 33
06 -> 34
07 -> 35
08 -> 36
09 -> 29
10 -> 38
11 -> 39
12 -> 40
13 -> 41
14 -> 42
15 -> 43
16 -> 44
17 -> 02
18 -> 03
19 -> 04
20 -> 05
21 -> 06
22 -> 07
23 -> 08
24 -> 45
25 -> 09
26 -> 10
27 -> 11
28 -> 12
29 -> 13
30 -> 14
31 -> 15
32 -> 16
33 -> 01
34 -> 17
35 -> 18
36 -> 19
37 -> 20
38 -> 21
39 -> 22
40 -> 23
41 -> 24
42 -> 25
43 -> 26
44 -> 27
45 -> 28
I'm going to revert the tracktimes, because it messes up the discid for freedb.

As pyoko mentioned they did mess up when throwing the tracks on the disc.

My edit was to move the songs into the order of the back of the disc.

As also mentioned in the thread shown the songs were not only out of order but wrongly named. The example of having both first songs in the track still makes the times out of order. The main theme on the "correct" side is 1:32 and on the "wrong" is 1:13 the real time is 2:31. battle city boss is 1:32 on the "correct" and 2:31 on the "wrong" the real time is 1:42.

Any update on if the times will actually be fixed or a 3rd track list with the times?

I do think there still needs to be a major edit.

I know the disc ID says different, but so does the disc submitted for that musicbrainz post, which does work correctly with the switch around shown on the other forums. Plus it shows the times to also correspond in the right way.

Thanks for the link. I've changed the tracklist to match the names in that MusicBrainz post.

Is there a way to separate the track times from the original track list so as to allow the changing of track times on the displayed not to interfere with the ones that came from the disc?

The displayed track times always match the order they occur on the disc. It's the only way we an do it now.

Hmm that does make a small problem. Being people will confuse the ordered version track times with their actual length. Since they can't be separated. It may just be better to give the order to them in the notes until that can be addressed.

Thanks for the track list fix. I was wondering why sounds weren't matching up to the track names at all that I had.

Anyway does anyone really like this soundtrack? Maybe I just haven't listened to it enough yet, but it seems disappointing for Soule. I thought Battle Forest Boss, Main Theme, Market Theme and Rural Day Theme 1 (theme at 24 seconds I really like) kind of stood out, but nothing exceptional. Nothing bad here, but seemed to be a lot of mediocre ambience compared to his later work.

Probably would be best to remove the as displayed on the back list since it interferes with the times of the tracks and just keep it as a note or in forums
