Basiscape now has a band called リブストロー. It's a rock and electronica band with Yoshimi Kudo, Azusa Chiba, and Mitsuhiro Kaneda as the members. They'll be playing at GAME SOUND IMPACT 2012

Nice move. I wonder if Kudo will be playing the bass or the E.Guitar on the live performances.
Edit:
Kudo (Gt)
Kaneda (DJ)
Chiba (Key)
+ Special guests on live events.

Would anybody object if I linked Basiscape as an artist to the albums it's members have composed for? (as a group)

We seem to have an consensus that group (individual...) linking makes sense, typically when only a group name is officially credited in an album but we know the breakdown from elsewhere. Exemplary cases are those of Falcom soundtracks.

If Basiscape is just credited as an organization an artist belong to (e.g. "Hitoshi Sakimoto (Basiscape)"), We actually have another function to denote it. It's definitely underused and I also rarely use it though.

You can add a suffix via the artist linking page.

Just to add my thoughts... The suffix function isn't particularly useful in my case... As far as I know (of course I could be wrong) the suffix itself provides no linking options, you still do the artist linking the usual way. It is mostly good for the organizations the artist is connected to/employed in etc... like:
http://vgmdb.net/album/31677
But I would rather put the organization in the notes than use the suffix, simply because I don't like it. Personal preference heh...

Basiscape will handle the music for Luminous Arc Infinity for the Vita. Sounds like Kaneda.

Interesting.

BTW, I wish Basiscape would update their works list. There are many games I know Basiscape worked on only because of this page, but it hasn't been updated in 2 years.

From 13 Sentinels: Aegis Aim's PV

Hyped!
Hoping for an electronic soundtrack instead of an orchestral one.

It's a very cool theme. Regardless of your feelings about Sakimoto, he does consistently write main themes that are memorable and easily adaptable for other places in the score. Hopefully we'll see a bigger contribution from Iwata, this time.

Oops, I thought ritsukai's post had a link in it. Here's the preview video with Sakimoto's excellent theme.

I've just noticed: Namiki, Abe and Kamikura are listed as former members. What happened? I'm really sad to see that they left.

Namiki left in 2011, he's M2's sound chief now.

Kamikura left in 2011 too, he went freelance and was part of Falcom's jdk band for a bit (not Falcom's internal sound team, as far as I'm aware).

Abe left in 2012, he's fallen off the grid a bit.
