Mr Stream definitely provided me with some amusement. He was extremely upset that OC ReMix doesn't allow people to submit ReMixes with exactly the same name as the original track. He declared on Twitter that he won't "change his art" for us. Which is apparently the art of using the name of someone else's art.

Anyway, he's emo, but this wasn't totally awful for a beginner as far as traditional remixing via slicing and dicing stuff. He should keep at it. But if he DOES keep at it and gets better, he'll listen to this in 3 to 5 years and wonder 1) why he thought it was so hot and 2) why he was surprised we didn't want it. :-D

Honestly, that was completely unnecessary. Regardless of the circumstances or whatever had transpired, it's truly sad that you, a "mature" individual who is also an artist, and above all, a staff member of the abovementioned website, utilizes this service to basically vilify someone.

I've been chopping up audio and sampling for years!

I admit to being somewhat bemused by the OC Remix rules as I didn't want to change titles. However, there is actually one track with an original title. In the future, I would consider creating my own titles but for this release, it felt right. It captured a moment, a brief one at that - naming tracks was the last thing on my mind.

Thanks for the feedback. It wasn't totally awful! It was great fun to sample tunes I love and I picked a few less common ones too.

It's called 'Act 1' for a reason... =D

Nah, I'm just being honest. I've seen enough artists grow that I know when people have an overinflated judgement of their skills at an early level.

For a beginner, it's not completely awful, but it's still beginner stuff. Like I said, if he keeps at it, he'll look back on this and cringe, and that'll be a good thing, both for the improvement in skill and the better perspective.

It really does. :-) We've had so many judges, back when they started out, who sent in way more beginner-ish stuff than this. Now they're making awesome tracks. They rearranged the music rather than remixed it, but the principle's still the same: dedication and acceptance of criticism. I'm genuinely looking forward to hearing some more stuff down the line.
