Original Pororoca version is from the metal band Dragonland, the song is called "Supernova".

Eh, they're not similar enough to warrant it being listed as a source. Listening to the sample track, it's definitely Nitori's theme.

Sounds similar ... but what is the matter with that ?
If we are trying to figure out plagiarism (to give original credits to "stolen" artists?), there's gonna be a lot of work.. |

Given how much people in general love to accuse an artist of plagiarism (myself included), I don't think workload would matter so much. I guess what's more problematic is plagiarism is a relatively subjective matter, and I'm not sure if a database site is the best place to deal with such, unless an artist himself admits plagiarism or self-plagiarism (that's actually the case with Koshiro or Sugiyama).

Oh, so the similarity is in the introduction (wasn't in the sample). Looks like SHO made Nitori's theme in the style of the Supernova track.
Calling it plagiarism is going too far, seeing as the whole album is an unauthorized doujin cover in the first place. But it is a case of an "uncredited" source, so this information is worth putting in the notes. Thanks for the comparison, kos-mos. |

I'm totally not into Touhou mania... and for the most part these Touhou doujin albums don't impress me... but Hole of Wind and Romantic Fall from this CD are ludicrous. This is actually a good CD, the first I've checked out of Toho Tempest.
Man... I can't get enough of Hole of Wind. I'm especially impressed because I was never fond of Chireiden's music. But the one Chireiden track on here may just be my favorite. Fuujinroku, however, has the best music in the series, indisputably. ZUN was in a zone when he wrote that stuff, man. And SHO covered some of it well. Pororoca is really good as well.
