How do we know that Ikuko Mimori is HAL Laboratory, Inc. for Pokemon Snap? I see a sound designer credit, but is that music composition? (and are we making an assumption about the arrangement here)?

@Secret Squirrel
Believe it or not, it's the only sound-related credit. I did, however, notice that Mimori seems to be under JACK and BEANS and not HAL, but all the Pokemon Snap tracks are credited to "HAL Laboratory, Inc." on the back of the CD case, so I put that in parenthesis after the name just as I did for "Luna Umegaki (III)" for all those Inti Creates albums a few months ago.

As for Acoustic Department, this is another European Nintendo OST in the same "serie" as the others they were involved in, and the remixes are the same kind of sound. Even though they aren't specifically credited, it's definitely them. I mean, who else could it be? It's one of those "inherently obvious" sort of things that come to you when you know enough about something.

Ikuko Mimori listed on her works list that she was responsible for all composition and sound effects for Pokemon Snap: http://web.archive.org/web/200212040...oftdetail.html. She had a bunch of samples up too: http://web.archive.org/web/200105220...ml#pokemonsnap.

JACK and BEANS appears to have been a development team under the supervision of HAL Lab which was working on an unreleased game for the N64DD called Jack and the Beanstalk. They'd later on adapt a few features from that into Pokemon Snap. A bunch of them had worked or would go on to work on other HAL/Nintendo games, and Mimori listed her employment from 1996 to 1999 on her profile as "JACK and BEANS (HAL Laboratory)." So that explains HAL being credited for the sound, I think. Unseen 64 has an article about Jack and the Beanstalk and JACK and BEANS, but they're down at the moment, so here's a Google cache link (I have no idea how long this will work): http://webcache.googleusercontent.co...-dd-cancelled/.

Do we really need "Nintendo" in the composition field when all the individual credits for Pokemon Stadium are known (and in the same place on the album)? I just find it highly necessary at this point. It should only a) be a placeholder for anything without a confirmed artist, or b) For "HELLOW DISC WORLD" in the Game Graffiti albums; the latter being the only remaining instance once all the others are cleared out.

The same can be said for the other team names/credit listings; they should go bye-bye once everyone is known, much like with Rockman: The Power Battle changing from "Capcom Sound Team" to Setsuo Yamamoto, Hideki Okugawa.

Nah, it wasn't necessary here. For some reason I thought a few of the tracks didn't have specific credits, but in fact they all do!

Somewhat agreed, although we have to be careful about incomplete soundtrack albums, because every composer won't necessarily be on the album. For example, there are several Pokemon Stadium tracks missing on this album, and neither Kenta Nagata nor Toru Minegishi are credited on it (although "sound composition" is a little ambiguous, so perhaps they did sound effects only). I don't believe we have a formal policy about this, though.

Any idea on who was responsible for the composition of tracks 31 and 32? As far as I can tell they're the only tracks that don't appear to have any details stating who specifically did them. Assuming they were remixed by the same person that made the original versions then that would make it Junichi Masuda, granted it's always possibly someone else was responsible for remixing said tracks.

Shouldn't we put "Hajime Wakai, Kenta Nagata, Toru Minegishi" instead of just "Nintendo" considering it's those three who are creditted as "Sound Composers" in the credits of Stadium?

I am kinda lost with this album too.

Game credits Hajime Wakai, Kenta Nagata, Toru Minegishi as composers but the album mostly credits Jun-ichi Masuda, can anyone explain ?

Also, there is no individual credits for tracks 31 & 32.

Junichi Masuda is the original composer of Pokemon Red and Blue, which many of these tracks are arrangements of.
