At the bottom of this official Brawl musician information page is an arrangement of the Melee menu theme.

It says:

Quote:
"Menu" Source: Super Smash Bros. Melee (1:22)

Composition Supervisor: Hirokazu Ando
Arrangement Supervisor: Motoi Sakuraba
"Composition Supervisor" is quite the odd credit: would this prove at all that Ando was the sole composer of that theme, or not, since it wasn't credited this way in Melee itself?

I talked about this in another thread, but the way Smash Bros. credits "Composition" and "Arrangement" is more based in the companies rather than the individuals, so for that track the info in Brawl's test appears as:

Quote:
Source: Super Smash Bros. Melee
Arrangement: Motoi Sakuraba
Composition: HAL Laboratory, Inc.
Some other arrangements have "Arrangement Supervisor" and "Arrangement" on distinct notes, like "Credits (Super Smash Bros.)":
Quote:
Source: Super Smash Bros.
Arrangement Supervisor: Yusuke Takahama
Composition: HAL Laboratory, Inc.
Arrangement: TARGET ENTERTAINMENT INC.
The game actually never credits the original composer, but rather the company (except some freelance guys like Motoi Sakuraba). The select themes that appear in the website credit the actual composer rather than the company, so it uses the same name convention for "Supervisor". This means Ando alone was the sole composer.

We also know Ando did Menu 1 from the orchestra CD, track 5 (Jun Ishikawa didn't work on Melee, so Ando must have written all the Melee-original songs in that medley). It's fine.
