Default So.. western animation osts are fine now?

topic says it all.

But to jump on the pro-western animation ost wagon:

We should add at least the well-known and even some rare western animation soundtracks to VGMdb. As part as western animation lover I feel obliged to add the most common or sought after entries to VGMdb with the most accurate description across the whole internet. That was the sole reason why I added two days ago two disney soundtracks [1] [2] to the db with the perhaps most accurate description as well in the whole web.

I think that western animation entries are a good opportunity to push the db even further and reaching new page visitors.

I think² we should focus on the big studio names, like Disney, Pixar, Don Bluth Animation, Warner Bros Animation, etc. and as well on really obscure or not well known releases like the He-Man Animation OST or the recently released Black Cauldron Soundtrack.

So, what do you guys think about it? Wouldn't harm to add it, right?

If you can keep the quality of the entries (and I think you can) I see no problem. Do a search before you add them though because I (mostly) made a decent number of entries already (I think I covered fair number of DreamWorks theatrical releases, there are some Pixar, Disney, Blue Sky Studios in the mix too ...even a Don Bluth iirc).

edit - that Black Cauldron Intrada release looks very interesting

i'm down with this. I think eventually we might have to rename the site to OSTdb. :P

EDIT: there already is a OSTdb, but it never took off, apparently.

Just gonna say one thing about this that I think is confusing everyone: every place on the site explicitly says *anime*. Western animation is not *anime*. I'm not saying it doesn't belong on the site. I just think that if you're going to call the whole section "anime soundtracks" and then throw non-anime stuff in there... it's gonna be really confusing.

just rename it to "animation" :P

and this site already accepts 1000s of lame doujin releases, so I don't see why anybody would have a problem with legit western animation OSTs. (besides all the work involved in putting all the back catalogs on the site haha)
