Just wondering about the product code (GCD-1). Nothing else with such letters, was this the first CD Gamest printed?
And by the way, why is there no SGCD-0007? |

On general knowledge, the GCD numbers are the Gamest Mook pack-in series (on their own) although I have no idea if they had other series or stems in addition to these.
GCD-1 Sengoku Ace GCD-2 ULTIMATE Ecology GCD-3 Great Magic Strategy (Sorcer Striker) the SGCD series are the collaboration effort, since they say "Scitron & Gamest" so it's logical that they added the S in front. Not sure why 7 is skipped but I assume it just got cancelled, and that the collaboration was scrapped after 8 probably for financial reasons. |

Pretty cool, thanks for the information! Was Gamest only a gaming magazine or did they also publish other things?
It's funny that both GCD-1 and 3 are Psikyo and Raizing's first games; makes them quite unique to me. |

I think they put out strategy guides and other books also.

Gamest is the magazine; the publisher is Shinseisha Inc. which is also the publisher listed on the GCD album covers. So for those entries, I linked Shinseisha as publisher and Gamest as imprint.

LuxKiller, it would be helpful if you specified where you actually found that info from.

Just to get this straight: were the first three Gamest CDs (G-CD1~3) released with a magazine or on their own?

I don't think they came with a magazine, if you check the back cover it gives you the price. The obi would be helpful, I should be getting mine in a couple of weeks. As for that info I totally forgot the page I took it from, will have to google again.

Our good friend Kouji Murata wrote three songs in secret.

Good find.
The album credits this mysterious "Iron Champ" dude. Before, it had "Syun" (Nishigaki?) but he doesn't list it in his site, so it's probably wrong. This album, which contains a Sengoku Ace track, credits Masaki Izutani only in the back. GMLC also credits him in Sengoku Ace. So maybe Iron Champ = Masaki Izutani (+ Kouji Murata)? Kind of like the Akemi Kimura thing? |

As for which 3 are Murata's, I'd say the Lake, Fields, and Sky Temple Stages. The Japanese theme is heard in more than three tracks, and all the others remind me of Captain Commando. |

The attract mode for another Psikyo game, Battle K-Road, lists both Masaki Izutani and "Iron Champ" separately (no roles given): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=edzeJKdoeZ8#t=0m11s. That kind of muddies the waters a little bit.
