Isn’t his name supposed to be written as “Seiji Koizumi”? There isn’t any such name as “Sage” in Japanese and people won’t get the pronunciation from it either way.

He's consistent about writing his name in English as Sage, so that's how it should be.

Also "Sage" here isn't さげ, but rather the English word "sage," which is similar in pronunciation to Seiji

Oh, alright then, I see. I forget that sometimes the weird romanizations come from that country itself. Didn't know that the man in particular writes his name in English that way though, I thought it would just be a matter of doing a direct romanization from the syllables.

I know that it's the English word, which is where I made the connection that this was used in place of Seiji. Though it seems rather confusing on first sight.
