The iTunes version of this album is missing "The Ordeal Becomes Great." Is there any explanation in the liner notes about that? Is there anything remarkable about that track? (i.e. am I missing anything?)

Maybe it has to do with the fact that the track is 90% a ripoff of Yngwie Malmsteen's "Far Beyond the Sun". Great track, but no missing the similarities. I bet it has to be related to that.

Thanks for information. Copyright infringement would be a good reason not to include it.

No credits were disclosed in the book. The music on these volumes were previously arranged for the PC Engine version and then newly arranged/remixed for the CD releases, mostly omitting bass and drum tracks. Nonetheless, the musician credits are on the original PC Engine version as such.

Neko Saitō Strings [斎藤ネコ ストリングス]
Drums Nobuo Eguchi (江口 信夫), KATSUJI [Gargoyle (ガーゴイル)]
Cho Kayoko Ishū (伊集 加代子)

Sax Mitsuru Kanekuni (包国 充), Jake H. Concepcion (ジェイク H コンセプション)
Trp Shin Kazuhara (数原 普), Nobuo Katō (河東 伸夫)
Trb Tarō Kiyooka (清岡 太郎), Naoki Miyamoto (宮本 直樹)

Has Yngwie ever publicly commented on you-know-what?

Not to my knowledge and I'm doubtful he would even be aware of it. I think Falcom's reluctance to put that track on iTunes or arrange it at all elsewhere mostly stems from fear of potential legal action rather than anything that's actually happened between them.

Are we ever gonna fix that decades-old mistranslation of track 3? The なる in this case is an old Japanese grammatical bit that eventually eroded to な in adjectives today, though it still survives in some words like 聖なる or cases like this where the goal is to sound old. It's not the verb なる meaning "become." The official translation on the Ys Silver Anniversary album, "A Great Ordeal" is correct.

EDIT 10/31/2020: I'm not having "The Ordeal Becomes Great" anymore. It's gone.

We have KATSUJI linked as a performer here. Should that still be the case?
