Just something a little odd I noticed while looking at scans of the booklet front: there seem to be two different pictures claiming to be "booklet front", but one of them has the catalog number in the bottom-right corner while the other does not. Where does this difference come from? It's just sort of curious :P

The picture with the cat. no. printed is the sticker; many old Scitron album have an extra sticker with the same picture of the booklet.

Aha. Cool. Not quite sure why it's called booklet front then o_o Thanks for the info.

Interestingly, I own two copies of this album, and each has a different colored obi. One of them is a light "lime green," and the other is a much darker "forest green." Here is a picture of them side-by-side:
http://i.imgur.com/Kg9OE5G.jpg Looking around on the internet, I haven't seen any other pictures of the "lime green" version - and so it's possible that the lime green isn't actually distinct, but is just a very faded forest green obi... Any opinions? |

Actually, I do see another copy with a "lime green" obi here:
http://page23.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/j...ion/o118028273 So it's fair to say that there really are two distinct obis. I'll add the second one to the database. |

Since the copy from the mentioned auction has a registration card which was used later in the lifetime of Scitron, the "lime green" seems to be a later pressing.

This one has the old reg. card but the obi looks neither "lime" nor "forest", more like in between...?

Regarding the "alternate registration card" shown on YJA: http://i.imgur.com/hWkTxA2.jpg That card may actually be for a different album, i.e. an error by the seller. If you look at some of the registration cards for later albums in the 1500 series, the registration card clearly says "1500 SERIES" on the front, much like this one: http://vgmdb.net/db/covers.php?do=view&cover=241054 The "alternate" card doesn't seem to say that, though unfortunately the picture is very low resolution. |

Hum, what about it's just discoloration? Since it's white on green, only the green would discolorate, making it hard to tell it's actually discolored.
The last picture from suicider looks darker than the "lime" ones posted earlier...? |

I now agree that the purportedly-different "lime green" obi is just a faded version of the original obi. In particular, the white lettering on the "lime green" obi is actually a faint yellow, which strongly suggests discoloration (possibly from smoke damage).
That being the case, can a mod please delete the "Obi (alt)" picture for this album? |

It doesn't make any sense to delete scans which provide higher scan quality.

After seeing two more auctions with the "lime green" obi and the newer style registration card I'm fairly certain this was used for later pressings. The old release with the black registration card has the forest green color.

Okay, after looking through aucfan (a YJA archive with 10 years of history), I'm now inclined to agree with suicider that there were in fact two different obi colors.
For example, see these auctions with the forest green obi: https://aucview.aucfan.com/yahoo/h324363163/ https://aucview.aucfan.com/yahoo/j469062010/ https://aucview.aucfan.com/yahoo/w120662185/ https://aucview.aucfan.com/yahoo/e162150472/ https://aucview.aucfan.com/yahoo/r93456758/ And see these auctions with a distinctly lighter-colored lime green obi: https://aucview.aucfan.com/yahoo/w123644610/ https://aucview.aucfan.com/yahoo/n113293654/ https://aucview.aucfan.com/yahoo/h434083039/ https://aucview.aucfan.com/yahoo/m81505883/ https://aucview.aucfan.com/yahoo/n140104692/ Now, it's possible that the lime green obis could just be faded. However, fading typically affects only part of the obi, e.g. the spine which is exposed to sunlight, leaving the other parts unscathed. In my experience it's very uncommon to see an obi that has perfectly uniform fading over all of its surfaces. If you add to this that there are many examples of the lime green obi, I'd say it's almost certainly a real variant. Any other thoughts from folks? Note I sold my "lime green" copy a while ago, thinking it was just faded. Now I might need to pick up another copy of it |

yes that is correct, green/black reg card is the confirmation that there are 2 prints, and we have enough links that show 2 spine colours --> win

Late to the party but I'll chime in that my copy has the lime green obi and I never thought it was due to sun fading, the color is perfectly consistent across the whole thing and it just looks...normal. Besides, obi's seldom end up faded on the right and left parts, right? It's usually the mid part that suffers.
