For Sale $35: Nobuo Uematsu Official Fan Club DVD - Nobiyo, Zombies, and Fantasy Rock
Up for sale is: Nobuo Uematsu Official Fan Club Dog Ear Family DVD Vol. 7 - Nobiyo, Zombies, and Fantasy Rock
Price: $33 The DVD is about 40 minutes long and mostly involves the Earthbound Papas crew (Nobuo Uematsu, Arata Hanyuda, and Michio Okamiya from The Black Mages, plus newcomers Yoshitaka Hirota and...and... dammit, forgot his name. Not gonna cheat with Google). Anyway, it's 2011 and Fantasy Rock FES is coming to town, and the camera follows them during their rehearsals (preparing to perform songs from their Octave Theory album), while in the back stage, etc... Interesting bits include short chats with the main Earthbound Papas members; the growling devil voice bit from "The Howl of the Departed" from Lost Odyssey (Hirota provides that); short chats with Emi Evans (is that a hint of Gaijin accent I hear?) from Nier, Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune 4, etc; Yoshitaka Hirota being silly and clowning around; and a few actual performances of songs (albeit through a tinny speaker). These DVDs were exclusive to members of Nobuo Uematsu's Japanese Fan Club. The videos were recorded by someone other than Nobuo and follows him around the world (e.g. USA and Europe) and his interactions with various people (e.g. meeting his international fans), a glimpse of some behind the scenes material of Final Fantasy concerts he has attended, and simple leisurely walks down the street or having a meal at a bar, cafe, or restaurant with his staff. The "Dog Ears Family" probably refers to the staff/employees of Dog Ears, a company/label that Nobuo used to be part of. Highlights (from memory) include Nobuo casually walking on the street (on the way to the concert hall) at the same with three fellow video game music veterans: Yoko Shimomura, Hiroki Kikuta, and Yasunori Mitsuda. Another interesting occasion was walking on the American streets outside and around the concert halls (where a Final Fantasy concert was due to be held), and noticing that the advertising board above the entrance of the concert hall spelled his name wrong (as hinted by the name of the first DVD), and him and his video recorder making fun of it.
All of the discs are either in mint or in excellent condition. I am selling it for $150 and shipping is $32 to USA etc... and $42 to Europe etc... These will not be sold separately. Also for sale are two information books from the same fan club. These are $12.50 + $5 worldwide shipping or $10 if bought at the same time as the DVDs.
