And the vocal-less Invisible Invaders, for sure, since it was that way in the Western releases. May also include Worlds Collide that was featured in the Western versions (sounded like an filter was applied to the vocals in that one).

Also, I imagine an FFXIII-2 piano collections will be released shortly after.

This soundtrack will have a new remix of "Clash of the Big Bridge" from FFV by Hiroyuki Togo, with Japanese traditional instruments (koto, shamisen, shakuhachi) performed by a trio called Yui.

Is this supposed to be an "extra", or does this remix have any ties to FFXIII-2?

It will be added as a battle theme in the next DLC (a battle with Gilgamesh)

Shouldn't Uematsu be added to the list of composers, then?

I posted scans, feel free of course to substitute them if\when any of you get their hands on better quality scans.

alex,

I bought the album myself, but really, those scans are pretty good. My scans would only be slightly better (in terms of lighting and grain problems they'd be better, but I have lots of smudge issues with mine). So I say we just stick with these scans, unless someone can make some immaculate scans. :P

Yeah, though that's a heavily arranged version of Clash on the Big Bridge. Is there any way we can get Uematsu to appear in dark blue, the "I didn't work on this project but my compositions were arranged for it" citation? I've never known how to make that happen on a page. Other staff, halp! I'm a noob!

^ I've done that, simply check the 'feat' box.

It does seem more appropriate to use the argument "I didn't work on this project but my compositions were arranged for it". However, it is easily revertable if it's decided to leave him in 'normal blue'.

I'm guessing these are the previously released Soundtrack's versions (on the right):

Local Cosmos — New Bodhum (vocals by Origa)
Travelogue — Historia Crux
Unseen Intruder — Invisible Invader
Memories of the Future — Noel's Theme ? (vocals by Kokia)
Starting Over_Goh Hotoda REMIX — very similar to the original, vocals by Joelle

The rest is either obvious by its title or i couldn't identify them.

I was hoping to get an instrumental version of "Invisible Invader" as I can't stand the vocals. Awesome.

Why are the track titles on this soundtrack (and the FFXIII OST Plus) so damn messy? They look like a nasty blemish in my nicely tagged iTunes collection!

What the hell is "Hope_PfNer3" for example???? IT LOOKS AWFUL! lol

Apparently that's how composers name their numerous "work in progress" variations of their themes as they're working.
See these: http://vgmdb.net/album/19692, http://vgmdb.net/album/22384, http://vgmdb.net/album/19800.
You can always retouch your tags in iTunes however you like — i did mine a bit.

Yea. Persona 3 had some songs on the OST as "tartarus_0d02" and "p3ct004_01" as well.

I have mine tagged as "Hope's Theme (Piano Version)," as it's a piano-only demo.

"Pf." is the standard orchestral abbreviation for "piano". It stands for "pianoforte", which is the instrument used by composers in the classical period when it was integrated as an orchestral voice. Though pianofortes aren't nearly as common anymore, we still use the Pf. notation.

No clue what "Ner" is.

um ... "pianoforte" is just the elongated, technical term for piano. "piano" = soft, "forte" = loud ... the whole point of the name was that it was a keyboard that could actually handle dynamic range (as compared to the harpsichord, which would only produce one consistent "volume").

The early version of the modern piano (again, full name pianoforte) is the name in reverse order, the Fortepiano:

Is it actually worth me picking up? Are there pieces that aren't included in the OST? I bought the FFXIII OST + purely for the defiers of fate full version. I am assuming this is very similar.

Thankyou

There is an extended version of The Last Hunter and a remix of Clash on the Big Bridge. The rest seems to follow in the vein of the XIII Plus album.

I feel it's weaker than FFXIII OST+, mainly because prototype versions are not very interesting to listen to this time. I was expecting this soundtrack mainly for the early version of "Local Cosmos" (New Bodhum) so I'm happy it's here.

The instrumental version of Unseen Intruder is the standout track for me
