If these discs contain full OSTs for each of the products represented, I'm-a want this.
But if it's "best of" stuff ... no thanks. Anyone know? |

Looks like there will be around 25-30 products represented according to the updated Nippon Columbia page: http://columbia.jp/prod-info/COCX-38295-6/

Added Front; tracklist(s); and changed release date to correspond with the amazon/official website one.

simply because regular users can't delete tracklists

Maybe Nintendo will give composer credits for games like Volleyball and Baseball? (although I'm 99% certain they won't) I have a hunch Koji Kondo composed for those games though. (sounds like Soccer)

Wish they had separated out the individual tracks.

Setting aside the fact that "Blu-spec CD" is entirely marketing garbage and cannot possibly sound any better than a regular CD at all (it still is a regular CD after all), I laughed seeing that FAMICOM MUSIC is on Blu-spec CD. I'm sure it sounds so detailed and lifelike, not at all like harsh, digital-sounding standard CDs!

It seems as if very light background noises were introduced on some tracks. Most notably is the main theme from Mach Rider; there is an engine background noise, as if the motorcycle is driving along the highway.

Whatever the source, they're very warm recordings. A few tracks have some slap-dash assembly problems (notably Ballon Fight).
This is one of the first recordings I've heard of Super Mario Bros. 3's "Underground" music that actually shows off the pseudo-random frequencies of the melody. |

Super Mario Bros. 2 is not included on this CD

That's because Super Mario Bros. 2 music doesn't exist, you fool!

The product list includes Super Mario Bros. 2 (NES) or Super Mario USA if you so will though there is no track with this games music therefore it should be deleted from the list, that's what I meant, mabye it's you who are the fool?

Gack! I did not see that there. Whoever wrote that entry in the first place is thy fool!
And my SMB2 =/= SMBUSA joke is ruined! |

Hehe no problem I was just suprised when I first saw it, if it had been the Japanese SMB2 then it would have been exeptable since it's the same as Super Mario Bros. :P

actually, the ending song for smb2 japan is tacked onto the end of the smb track. you can tell because the sound quality is completely different than the smb ending song, which plays immediately previously. this is the only song that is different between the two games, but it is included, so the game should be listed.

Why is "Donkey Kong Country 3" listed instead of "Donkey Kong 3"?

Because DKC3 was the automatically suggested product for that game and someone wasn't paying close attention when they were linking (fixed, thanks).

There is composer info for a few of the games in the liner notes of this one but unfortunately it's all stuff we know already, nothing exciting like who did the FDS theme:
Yukio Kaneoka: Donkey Kong Koji Kondo: Shin Onigashima (both parts) Akito Nakatsuka: The Adventure of Link Hirokazu Tanaka: Balloon Fight, Dr. Mario, Kid Icarus, Metroid Akito Nakatsuka & Koji Kondo: Devil World Hirokazu Tanaka & Kenji Yamamoto: Famicom Wars |
