Any in-game credits for the music? I'm very curious who worked on this game, aside Tomoya Ohtani doing the After Burner boss theme.

I haven't seen credits yet, but Hiro did tweet out long ago that he's involved with music, plus other sound team members. The bits I've already heard have made me think my wish for Yasuyuki Nagata to participate were granted.

Looks like we're getting a soundtrack release, and there's a list of composers!

It's a cool list that makes sense together
Fumio Ito, Satoshi Oike (love him), Takahiro Kai, Hiroshi Kawaguchi, Rintaro Soma, Yasuhiro Takagi, Yasuyuki Nagata, Keitaro Hanada, Shinji Hosoe and Takenobu Mitsuyoshi.

No mention of Tomoya Ohtani, but that's either because 1 song didn't warrant the highlight, or the fact this is only the 1st soundtrack means his song won't be included until later. I'd wager it's the former.

Yeah, I guess the people listed here make up this game's music team, while Ohtani was a one-off guest composer.

This discussion between Takenobu Mitsuyoshi and his guest Junpei Mishima says that it covers the hot new Error Game Re:Set songs, so Mishima's another person left out of that list from earlier.

That'll be a job for someone who can understand Japanese by audio, I can still make out very little then.

Ah, too bad. I've been eagerly waiting for it to release, ever since the announcement!

Will see if the list of arrangementS in there is everything or just selections. Like the composer list from earlier, there's definitely games missing.

Are we still getting DAYTONA USA then, or will that be volume 2?

I guess, considering the Daytona content was announced at the same time as the soundtrack, this first volume will contain everything that was already in the game up to that point. A future volume will probably have stuff like Daytona, if I had to guess.

More confirmation while we wait, the new RYU STAGE arrangement from the STREET FIGHTER II event is by Takenobu Mitsuyoshi
https://twitter.com/Take_SegaCorp/st...70797849636864
The event also has an arrangement of M. Bison's Theme and the Intro/Character Select, so if it's the same composer handling all the themes for a certain event, then those are all him, but if it can be different for each theme, then who knows.

So not only was Tomoya Ohtani not mentioned in that initial list, Junpei Mishima and Iona Takashima weren't either. Takashima only getting an artist credit makes things tough, I don't know if it would refer to arrangement or instrument performance, so I've had to copy over the Artist credit wholesale so she gets in there.

But now there's a new weird thing on the soundtrack. Hisayoshi Ogura is credited as co-composer for most of the TAITO arrangements, but Hiro isn't credited under any of the arrangements of his SEGA music.
Most likely just means it was assumed everyone knows who composed Out Run and AFTER BURNER music, but maybe not every SEGA fan knows Hisayoshi Ogura composed the ARKANOID and DARIUS music, but it could also be misinterpreted as him being involved with Erage.

Interview about the game with Takenobu Mitsuyoshi, Yasuyuki Nagata and Junpei Mishima.

https://realsound.jp/tech/2023/10/post-1458120.html

Some confirmations about the game specifically (outside of all of Yoko Taroo's methodology)
Junpei Mishima arranged the PAC-MAN music (taking some of his classic orchestral knowledge) and also made Movie Multi Audio for the cutscenes (translating イベントシナリオ Event Scenario, not 100% confident).

The core sound creators behind the game are Yasuyuki Nagata, Fumio Itoh and Junpei Mishima. But, like Naofumi Hataya mentioned in a Samba de Amigo interview, SEGA's sound departments merged a couple years ago, so they can make use of all sorts of composers as guests.

The AFTER BURNER battle was the first completed, but Yoko Taroo brought up wanting to Tomoya Ohtani involved around that time so they reached out to him (because of the department merger)

There's also talks about the Diggin in the Carts' documentary and the trio's thoughts about the retro nostalgia and documentation these days (like with the MEGA DRIVE mini 2)
