I'm pretty certain that's from Percussive Adventures by East West.

EDIT: The beat from the first track is from a construction kit on Percussive Adventures called "Independence Day". The beat/percussion/voice from the second track is from "Shallow Grave V 1", also on Percussive Adventures.

Hmm, no idea, but it's used in 2.10 "HIGHWAY" from Racing Lagoon also!

* same sample as in the LEECHMAN-1 (Biohazard Zero) in track "Filmsy"
As I don't have that library in possession, I recon it's from "East West: Symphonic Adventures"

Need for Speed 4: High Stakes
some beats are from Zero-G Database, Vol. 3
for example "Bulbulous Swirl" used Track 16 (Sample 2)

Grand Theft Auto
Track 86 sample 10 (Voice sample "These machines will have eyes, etc") from "Zero-G Database, vol 3" was used in the last track of "The Fix FM"
sample from the "Zero-G Database, vol 1" used in the beginning of the "Head Radio"
Also it seems like sirens from the same library was used in Da Shootaz - Grand Theft Auto.

Also Kevin Riepl likes to use East West libraries. Mainly the Platinum Orchestra library, Storm Drum, Ra.

Found that vocal. Listened to it clean for a while and I think I'm now gonna write it off as saying "flip the rap, split the track".

That's sample 4 of Track 55 to be precise, "would you stop playing with that radio of yours" etc.

As for the two songs that sample does sound very similar within the two, sadly I'm not sure of a source myself though.

I'm stuck in a similar situation myself actually.

I found a striking resemblance of a track from GoldenEye (the movie) in Biohazard 0:

Fatal Weakness from GoldenEye (from 1:42 to 1:46)
最後のささやき from Biohazard 0 (from 0:04 to 0:11, at a lower pitch)

Am I the only one?

Well, it's not just a lower pitch. The actual intervals are different. In the Goldeneye sample it goes half-step down then major third down. In the Biohazard sample it goes half-step down then minor third down.

You have a good ear. It felt like there was something else between them, but I couldn't really put my finger on it. I don't really think Seiko Kobuchi (?) actually sampled it though, but perhaps she was inspired..

Since you added me to your friends list here, I decided to stalk you and look at threads you started. This one is pretty cool. You can find a little bit of detail about samples used in Age of Mythology from some Spectrasonics sound libraries in the booklet. Figured I would contribute since I had just taken a look at this thread before going back to that soundtrack's page and combing the booklet for relevant info to add the the notes field. Lo and behold, there it was, information about sound libraries

I recently picked up Zero-G's Ambient library, and I recognized a few samples in it. The current release of Ambient combines volumes 1 and 2 of the original releases, but it doesn't specify which samples originally belonged to which volumes. In addition to the sample names, I've included the directory where the sample can be found.


ANALOGPULSER (Partition B/OBI FX) - .hack//EXTRA SOUNDTRACKS track 16, Attack07

SPACESHIP (Partition E/SHIP DRONES) - THE BLACK MAGES track 7, J-E-N-O-V-A

OSC FX 1 (Partition B/OSCILLATORFX) - TEKKEN 3 PlayStation Soundtrack 002 track 21, Tiger Jackson

There are also a few that remind me of Parasite Eve but I'm not able to find a proper match in the original game, so I expect they're just similar sounds.

Does it say "Volume 1" on the front? Because if it's missing, it might derive from an AKAI CD-ROM compilation that was released in 1994 actually, which contains samples from both 1 and 2.

Or is that an AKAI copy (not from their online store) of the very first release from 1992 that you've got your hands on.. ? Didn't know it existed, I only have a CDDA release myself.

Then yeah, that's actually the compilation. It's a digital transfer of the AKAI CD-ROM from 1994 basically. I think it even says that somewhere in the PDF included. I'm not 100% sure but I don't think it includes all samples from 1 and 2, especially based on Sounduser's review. Just saying.

I think I managed to source one more sample from SSF2T: The electric piano is the "Detuned EP 2" from the Roland SC-55. Anyway, I started playing around with VGMTrans recently, which has support for the Capcom QSound format. Really fun program. As I noted earlier, I have almost all of the samples needed to recreate Akuma's theme sourced (all that's missing is the bass drum). So I exported the theme as a MIDI with VGMTrans, then plugged in all the original source samples to their respective spots. Here's what resulted. Could use some fine tuning (volume balancing, EQing, etc.), but still sounds pretty nice for something this preliminary.
