Maybe it's a reprint of the ROCKCAN Sound E Can?

Yep, it's it indeed - this time however without the can, and a package similar to the "Rockman X Sound Box".

Hoping they might expand on the liner notes, as they did with the Rockman X box.

MAN I hope they do this for the Breath of Fire Original Soundtrack Special Box.

I'm hoping that they fix the sound issues with the Mega Man 2 CD on this one...wasn't the sound poorly recorded in the E-CAN version?

Mega Man 1 & 2 were both problematic if I remember correctly... but it is more noticeable with 2.

Yeah, if this is fixed on the box (have the e-Can) I'll get this box.

Can anyone testify to the sound quality of this one?

I'm seriously considering getting this one (over the E Can).

Either way, how does it compare to the Complete Works?

Same here. I have Vol.2 ordered, but I'm holding off on this one until I get some feedback.

Still, don't know why they wouldn't fix it... word had to get back to them about that, right?

Preliminary indications are that this set is exactly the same as the E-CAN release. Someone has analyzed the first disc of this set versus the E-CAN set, and all tracks are precisely the same, right down to the pixel.

Granted, disc 2 hasn't been similarly tested yet--that would be the big one for me--but in all likelihood, it retains the poor quality of the previous copy. (At least discs 3-10 are high quality, though!)

So if you have the E-CAN, it would seem there is no point in getting this version too.

Honestly, kind of glad they didn't fix it. It's really not even that big of an issue, plus it would have pissed off all of us that actually got the E-Can if we wanted the "better" version.

True... I can but that money towards something I technically don't already have.

However, if they did fix it and I did get Vol.1 I was going to give my 1-6 box to my friend.

Aren't most (all?) of those Navi Mode tracks taken from Rockman: The Power Battle Arcade Gametrack and Rockman 2: The Power Fighters albums, so shouldn't the credits be given those people behind those albums too instead of the people that are now credited with Playstation Sound?

Edit: after some surfing and thanks to Gamefaqs actually, some of the tracks are sourced from those albums but not all. So, Navi tracks are mix of new and old stuff.

Edit 2: Gonna go tru the tracks and do some breakdowns / sourcing, huge post coming for backup checking when I'm done.

Also, apparently Toshihiko Horiyama did compose one of the two (or both) PS/SS era Capcom logo jingles, according to Remastered Tracks Rockman Zero album notes. And 西尾 将人 should be Masato Nishio.

And there's also the case of Toshio Kajino, seems that he has more been into sound design instead of composing/arranging, so I wonder if he should be even credited.

I really don't think it's a good idea to credit everyone involved with the games audio for individual tracks if the actual arranger isn't known. It's ultimately inaccurate, and will cause confusion.

Am I the only one that's confused about track 7-14: Museum in Mega Man 7?

This is a medley that supposedly contains Guts Man's, Heat Man's and Snake Man's theme, but for the life of me I just cannot identify what is meant to be the Heat Man section with the tune I'm familiar with. Do I have the reprises correct here, or do I have some misinformation?
