ペリキン・ヨッシー・アスレチック = Pelicin Yoshi Athletic? Is that supposed to be something like Pelican or is that supposed to be literal? In which case Google Translate pegs that as "Perikin".

アルペン・ヨッシー・ミュージック = Alpen Yoshi Music? 'Alpen' is "from or relating to the Alps". Google Translate has it pegged at 'Alpine', which is "of or relating to mountains". That seems more likely.

だれもいなくなった = Everyone's Dead? That should at the very least be Everyone Is Dead since 'Everyone's' is possessive. Everyone Is Gone a better translation?

Of course I know a human is probably more accurate than that tool, so I would like a bit of a lesson!

Everyone's can also be used as a contraction of "everyone is," so it's not incorrect. なくなった pretty much specifically means to die (literally to no longer exist), but it's a little bit more polite, like saying someone has passed away or something.

Those first two should definitely be pelican and alpine.

"Locked": does that mean "Trapped"?

"Everyone Is Gone" makes sense within the context of the game. The Yoshis are brought to the prison, never to be seen again. Essentially dead but not really. 'Dead' is definitely not a polite way of putting it.

I'd go with "Everyone Is Gone" too, いなくなった implies 'dead' just like 'gone' does in English. Alpine is fine. とざされた ('closed' more or less) could be taken as both 'locked' or 'trapped' depending of context.

For ペリキン I doubt it's "pelican" (unless there is some related pelican, I haven't played the game). The only use I've seen is that ペリキン is a popular contraption for the duo of Jean-Jacques Perrey and Gershon Kingsley ('Perrey-Kin'), pioneers of synthy electronic music. Maybe "Synth/Electronica Yoshi Athletic" or along the lines, I think it fits the track.

Recently, I entered Kazumi Todaka's liner notes for this album:

みなさんこんにちは。おはなしは楽しんでいただけましたか?

年に数回、音楽を聴いて泣くことがあります。
「スーパーしあわせのツリー」は、おとぎ話のつくりものなどではなく、実は僕等の心のなかにあッて、でも時 々それを忘れてまうのだと思います。
「なにかがたりない,へなへなだぁ」なんで時にはいつでもヨッシーと達ー緒に笑いも涙も思い出してください ねっ!

それではまた。

Anyone wanna give a try at translating it? I know Yahoo Translation is a joke, and I'm curious about what it means.

いなくなった is just past tense of いない

Very quickly and roughly rendered:

Hello everybody. Did you enjoy the story?

I cry listening to music several times each year. The Super Happy Tree is not merely a tale we created; it is something that lies within our hearts, although we forget about it from time to time. Whenever you feel "I'm not good enough, I'm too weak", please remember the smiles and tears you shared with the Yoshis.

Well then, until next time.

Wow, that was amazing. I didn't expect such a quick response.

Thanks sincerely, Xenofan.

No problem. I wouldn't want to do anything longer, though.
