I thought that producer was usually used to refer to compositions? I've seen many albums with imprecise credits and yet those with the "producer" label always end up in the Composers field. How come they aren't here?
+ What do the names under the performers (in parenthesis) signify in the individual track credits? Last edited by Robin; Sep 1, 2020 at 03:14 PM. |

Producers are not composers (at least not necessarily).
Names in the parentheses are the songwriters, meaning the people who did composition or lyrics or both (in some cases arrangement as well). Exactly because there's usually no way to differentiate between these roles when having the songwriter format (which is normal in the West), leaving them just in the notes is fine. |

Man, that's why I always hated the "producer" role, it feels like it can mean both anything and everything at the same time
