Neat! I was wondering if they were ever going to do this.
The album description at Neowing only mentions Yoshitaka Hirota in conjunction with the menu music arrangements, but Hirota named fellow TTS Products staff Hiroyuki Maruyama, Kingyo Miyamoto (宮本 金魚), and Syota Sakurai (桜井 正太) as responsible for arrangement and SFX, so I'm not sure that's complete. The game additionally credits Tsutomu Narita and Masataka Saito (斉藤 正剛) as sound designers with the others. |

so from this it looks like (maybe) the first four discs will be just copies of the music stages that were already put out on iTunes...? the 5th disc looks to be the one to watch out for with the new arrangements that appeared in the game. |

I'm also not sure about this one 22 ビッグブリッヂの死闘 Clash "of" the Big Bridge instead of "on"? |

Daaaaaaaang, Tsutomu Narita did the jazzy "Racing Chocobos" ProfiCard browsing menu arrangement (5.07 on this album it looks like)? That's been my jam for the past few days when I was by chance playing the game with headphones and could finally hear all those chords he added.
Anyone familiar with Narita know if he's written any other music in a similar style? I only really know his orchestral and rock/guitar stuff. |

SE are having some discrepancy's with the credits in lates releases (Before Meteor:FINAL FANTASY XIV Original Soundtrack & this one) isn't?
In this one, the booklet credits for "Mi'ihen Highroad" are like this: COMPOSED BY Nobuo Uematsu, ARRANGED BY Shiro Hamaguchi In Final Fantasy X Original Soundtrack say: COMPOSED & ARRANGED BY Nobuo Uematsu Also don't credit RIKKI or Frances Maya for: Suteki da ne [Isn't it Wonderful?] & The Sunleth Waterscape respectively. |

First, why would they credit vocalists on an instrumental rearranged album (Theatrhythm)? RIKKI didn't compose suteki da ne.
Second, the only real info we can go by is what's in the books. No one besides the composer themselves are going to be able to tell you who composed and/or arranged something. So either it was wrong before and SQEX fixed it, or it's wrong now and was right before, or it could even be wrong both times (who knows)? We have the ability to talk directly to composers and SQEX folk with Twitter and modern social media but even then you're working off someone's memory. How many times have people researched old tracks credited to aliases, asked a composer via twitter and they said "I think that was me" or "Yeah, that sounds ilke me". That's no different than people identifying composers based on what the composition "sounds like". It will always be 100% unreliable. Just go by what's in the book. Right or wrong, it's the only source of truth you have. Whether you want to believe it or not, that's up to you. *edit* I stand corrected, there's vocals on this Theatrhythm album. Weird. *edit edit* Admittedly, these are originally SQEX promot items from their points store anyway, weren't they? They probably just threw them together into a collection to get some extra money out of it. Last edited by dancey; Aug 24, 2013 at 06:24 PM. |
